Those irritating whining skippers in HMs...

New players are the only ones that don't like to skip and like to listen to the story. I was like that at one time too if you take a look at my post history. It gets tiresome. WoW has story, just not as much voice acting, but it even has plenty of that now. This game is overrated. It's "story" (voice acting) is overrated. Once you get to level 50 (and on the way) you notice your character says the same canned lines over and over again. Even the voice acting/story is lazy in this game just like all of the design and development decisions which drove it to F2P.

Add to that, all the dailies and everything are by terminal now because the game failed so bad they can't afford any more voice acting really as well as all the voice acting only being good the first time through until you realize every character you make has the exact same side quests and you come to the conclusion you've been feeding your money to the evil EAWare and not actually a decent MMO at all.

Don't blame players for wanting to skip mid-bosses and trash mobs. Bottom line, in HMs only the final boss drops columi. All the other drops are 99% worthless. Sometimes a columi "like" piece will drop (no set bonus), but that's it. Tionese is worthless and not worth the time. Better to just que for the HMs you need and hope the final boss drops the piece you need for your class.

Those same guys who speed run that HM usually don't need the columi the final boss drops so if it is for your class, it's all yours

Stop being whinny babies! If you want to do a slow run, join a guild.

I'm completely okey with skipping some of the useless mobs but skipping all middlebosses only to get the 5 daily BH comms is ridiculous...There are many people around who would find the possible columni drops very useful and could use the tionese crystals so killing normal bosses should be required to complete the HM Flashpoint.

A whole another story are those healers and tanks who just refuse to join into the fight because "they are so busy and do not need the drops". I have seen some of those who just sit outside the fight and tell people that "good luck soloing that boss because I won't come as I don't need the drops". Also those people who start to call other people names when they happen to pull the aggro from a random thrash group because they don't know how hard they will have to hug the wall to be able to skip it. Why are these skippers even playing the game if all they want is to skip everything but the last boss to get daily commendations?
On the first part I completely agree. I've said this in that other game which won't be mentioned because it happened for the last 4 years. Over there, people would kick you if you weren't putting out what they believed to be enough DPS. I've been kicked from groups as a tank and a healer because some pompous ******e was in a hurry. I've said that all bosses should be required. It should be required. Problem is I don't think that is going to change.

On your second part, I'd just start blacklisting these people. put them on ignore and the group finder shouldn't pull them into the group with you. You could possibly report them but I don't know if that would do any good. Maybe a vote kick would work.

Yesterday I got put in a group replacing the tank that just dropped on the next to last boss for battle of ilum. The healer had under 10K so I thought it was a fresh 50. We end up skipping that boss even though we did very well for the first attempt with me there. We get to the final boss. I drop the repair bot and then the healers health jumps to 13K. Apparently person needed a repair but looked more inline with a fresh 50 with some gear to me. seemed odd to skip a boss though. Healer got pummeled by crystal throw in every attempt. That fight is hard for fresh 50s. I didn't mind skipping the boss because they apparently tried it enough that the previous tank left. I felt bad the healer kept dieing and she left the group. We ended up getting Consular token she could have used, i think.

The problem is I think people forget where they came from and that those things used to be hard for them as well. They look for the quick rewards and honestly those are the ones we need to get rid of, in my opinion. I'm all for skipping a bunch of trash if you can but skipping a boss because we aren't "going fast enough for you" isn't right. If you don't have the time to do the flashpoint or operation, don't queue up. You're only pissing off people you need to get that flashpoint done. We don't have 10 million players so these people acting like D-bag Carl is going to limit their experience

Skip, spacebar, whatevery no bonus, takes to long is pretty common now in the normal FPs too. Not only Hard Mode. One more reason more to avoid Flashpoints for someone who is just started the game and is doing it all for the first time.

- Skip it, I don't have time!
- Hey, first time, anything I shoul.... - zip, zip, zip others are half way the next corridor/whatever. Yeah, right. MMO, socialize, play with others... Common experience of a newb looks just like that. I know, I am a newb playing my first character.

There are obviously more old players who don't care about the game and just want to zip through the game as fast as possible, then there are new players who want to, don't know, play the game. I just don't quite get what is the point for those oldies? If it is all about doing the "skip it" content why they don't change the game? As this one is obviously boring them? Do they play for money and is it a job for them or what?

I'm sorry if my English isn't really good.

MMO <> social games. MMO = Massively Multiplayer Online.
If someone is playing alone in a corner, he's not against the spirit of a MMO, he's playing ONLINE in a world FULL of other PLAYERS.

I'm getting tired of people telling me how I should play, telling "NOOB NOOB. PLAYING A MMO SHOULD BE A SOCIAL ACTIVITY, GO PLAY WITH YOUR PS3 IF YOU DON'T WANT TOO. NOOB NOOB". Anybody can play as he wants as long as he's not breaking the rules. And as far as I checked, skipping mobs, bosses and videos isn't against the rules. Asking someone to do the same isn't against the rules.

Stop whining and play. We are millions of players, and we all have different ways of playing, just stop telling the others to chenge their play just because they don't suit yours.

But to answer your question, yes, I tend to walk when I do world quests and yes, I do tend to kill whatever is along the way, within reason. You also apparently chose to ignore my last line: "Plus, you have to plan for stupid. Plan for someone not paying attention running back from a respawn and aggroing that group you skipped. Not you have to wait even longer. Do them, it's faster."

I have had COUNTLESS groups where people facepulled a mob they forgot was there, or a patrol aggroed them, or they didn't remember how we skipped X mob and accidentally pulled them. I do my job the way I'm supposed to: I protect my group.

If you want to speedrun, say so at the start of a dungeon. But don't whine if people bail and you have to sit in queue. Also, as another note, when I do DPS I follow the tank. If they want to speedrun, fine, I speedrun.
Why should the person doing the speed-run have to be the one who says it at the beginning? You act as if the speed-runners are the minority. Majority rules so if you don't want to skip, you should probably ask at the beginning if people can do all of the bosses.

aw, u mad bro? I don't get mad. In Esseles with cut-scene viewers, I can watch a whole episode of Scrubs in little pieces on my other monitor while the Waiting for Group message is up. Win win, bro!

If this were a Mario game, you would obviously be Luigi...

No I'm not mad, I just feel sorry for you because of your attitude. And actaully at the same time it makes me laugh...Your attitude just make me to think even more seriously this game is not for you. If you want to make those skipping runs with destroying your spacebar please do us other players a favor and do them with your guildies.

When the game was released, it was touted as the "story based MMO." As opposed to other games, particularly WoW, this was a game about community and narrative and not just comms and purple gear.

Doing my weekly HMs, though, I can hardly tell the difference. Few groups contain even a single player that wants to listen to and role play the dialogue or not skip bosses. If there is such a player, his suggestion is met with incredulity ("what, we're doing the bonus!?!") or sometimes outright hostility. I've probably seen players type the word "spacebar" ten times more than I've heard commentary on the setting and story we're supposedly immersed in.

I don't believe we can really blame Bioware. After all, they spent a Hutt load of money hiring voice actors so we wouldn't have to read anything. Apparently we as a community are a lot more Barrens chat than we would like to believe
The storylines and voice acting are very good, but how many times do you watch the same movie over and over? Even the best movies out there aren't all that interesting to watch back to back, or multiple times a month, or dozens of times a year.

Now cut it down to about 5 minutes of dailogue/acting and how many times can you watch it before getting bored?

I remember the one BT I did with a group, they watched every line of dialogue. Fine, np. I get it, as it was their first time(?). I'd done it probably a dozen times by then so I wasn't thrilled to watch it, but understood the team wanting to do it. Then we did it again immediately after with the exact same 4 people, and they still watched every line of dialogue and choose all the same responses....AAAAHHH!!!
