what was your reasoning behind making every single Jedi Knight robe hooded?

They really don't care, you see what they did to Revan's armor? A recolor with his name slapped on it. Its disgusting. A company that cares wouldn't do that to its customers.

The problem with the Jedi Knight heavy armor is twofold. First, they are pretty much all some shade of brown with the long sleeves under short sleeves look. (They couldnt figure out how to make loose long sleeves not clip, a problem solved by games in the 90s). Second, they all have he hoods up, so even thouh the robes may all look similar, your face, which is your most unique part is covered on everyone. Thus all 50,000 Jedi Knights on my server all appear identical.

When you go out to dinner, I doubt you show up say "boy, I'm glad that woman is wearing the same dress as me, it would be so embarrassing if we were wearing different things"

I feel like all of the Jedi used to be hood down and all of the Sith were hood up at a certain point in development (kinda like how they are in trailers or art) but then the hood + mask thing wasn't working properly to they made a quick color swap and faction swap.

And if you go on any Sith Warrior class section you'll see people begging for more hood up armors and if you go on any Jedi Knight class section they are asking for hood down armors.

It's crazy.

At least they were given a couple that were hood up. Jedi have none that are hood down.

Yes there is. It's called the Destroyer Chestplate. Black Jedi robe, hood down. Enjoy.

Also, BW mentioned in a recent QA that traditional Jedi robes will be implemented soon. I'm sure there will be hood down robes.

What is so wrong with the hood? Personally I like to have a hood up.

I have to admit I'm a little annoyed by this, as well, especially since they went and changed the UI location for "hide head slot," and they could have added "hide robe hoods." The functionality is obviously there, as hoods disappear with certain headgear.

Love this game, but "cart-before-the-horse" design philosophy...hiding the hood slot can give a player greater personal connection to their character (especially when she is sexy.) My once-pretty Sith Inquisitor now looks like a Victorian in a creepy gimp mask, or half-Jawa. Those are my options.

Letting me see her hair reminds me she is human. Remember when Obi-wan had his hood up in "Star Wars" and he was weird and mysterious and vaguely threatening, and then he took it down and he was suddenly, instantly relatable?

Don't see how "sympathetic connection to your character" is low-priority in the context of this game, when the storytelling is so diffused that the game necessarily struggles to be an engaging Bioware experience, even with the best writing possible.

Also there is another thing. Remember when they were "threatening" to make all the gear very class-strict so they can be easily recognised from afar...? I can't say anymore if that guy in the robe is a smuggler, trooper or a Jedi if he doesn't have his lightsaber on or I actually read what class he is after I atrget him.

But that's off-top. I want to know "why hoods".

Cool story. Get a bit into lore and look closer at the destroy chest plate, which is an obvious Sith wear. This thread is about Jedi robes which don't have Sith tattos painted all over them.

No. You understood it incorrectly. they will still be recolours of existing stuff, not original Revan's outfit from KotOR.The only thing which will change is the clipping issue and a chain added to the leg piece.
