That's not an afro brah....thats a crew cut lol

I want my toon to have an Afro like Afro Samurai.

You would think that BioWare would have no issue implementing different character looks in the game. Look at Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3. And only 4 body types? Tiny, average, tall or fat? WFT??? BioWare, you can do better.

They need to add a new character generator for future releases or at least their first or 2nd major expansion. I'd pay extra for that. Also would be nice if you could tweak the character voices in game like you could with Soul Calibur.

Yeah I got off topic. Hair is one of the many things they need to improve in this game but if they do that might as well over haul character creation in it's entirety.

Madmartygan - 55 (Guardian DPS) Skylaadawn - 55 (Sab Smug)
Akon - 55 (Carnage Marauder) L'aron - 53 (Sorc Healer)

How about some hair that you could get on the market?

Clipping issue. I know .. right .. in this day and age. It is also the same thing plaguing hoods and masks and some helmets. I imagine it is also an issue with hood up/down. 2012 and we have clipping issues.

So long hair would need to be modified to be able to lay against the body in medium and light armor and to float above the body - on top of the armor - in heavy armor, and anything that has hair over the shoulders will need to be programmed to go over chest pieces/breasts in various types of armor.

Hair is a nightmare with clipping issues - and more than a few times I've completely thrown away an entire hair project because it was too much of a pita (or released it half-assed because people kept asking for it, but with a proper warning that it clipped like crazy or only had functional gravity from the shoulder up).

As for curly hair, if you want hair that is truly curly from a 3D perspective, you're going to kill many graphics cards OR the hair will look bad on low settings. To keep that from happening you can lay a curly texture on top of a flat mesh, and it looks kind of curly depending on the angle you look at it from, but it's not really curly - which would probably satisfy some people, but lead to complaints from others.

TL;DR, hair in video games is the freakin' devil and if everyone would just go bald already programmers would have an easier time getting content out. So go bald already! I'd rather have a whole new range of makeups and scars anyway.
Thanks, I've always wondered a little about the different hair styles. Can see how curly hair would be difficult. Have zero experience with this kind of work, the closed I have come is working with CAD for some projects. Find it interesting to read about how things are designed so it was interesting.

Concepts are easy. You just sit down and start sketching, or start modeling. Plenty of 3D compiled characters have long hair. The problems came in when those designs have to be able to move fluidly through jumps, twirls, somersaults, rolls, sitting, dancing, and so forth.

It's in the phase between concept and launch that things like long hair get excluded as not feasible.

Hey man, if you want to really be a special snowflake, make a character of different ethnicity and not give him a token racial name.

You know how many black or oriental humans/cyborgs I see that aren't gimmicky? Not friggin' many.
