SoE killed SWG.

Hybrids are the future of MMORPG.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

I am just saying that non-combat features to hold players over while waiting for new content has been severely under estimated by the devs, who wanted to focus more on "Heroic" experiences.

I would love to see a week Pazaak Tournament on Nar Shaddaa. A monthly Swoop Race on Tatooine and so fourth, It would breath alot of life into the game and gives players a distraction away from the grind.

It's not just mini-games.

If you look at space and RvR, you quickly come to realise that either the Devs had no concept of what an MMORPG is or that they simply didn't have the time to half-finish the game, or possibly both.

There were two massive things for SWTOR that were a very so so mini-game (which was bettered on phones by 2011) and the other pretty much non-existant.

Another 6 months of development time would have done wonders for SWTOR IMO.

Interestingly enough, the current space game qualifies as the most expansive mini-game SWTOR has. The fact that the devs spent a bunch of time rolling out heroic versions tells me that adding more "worthless" stuff to do is very possible. They just have to prioritize it-- and I do believe it needs to get bumped up in importance. Also, the space game plays much like I'd imagine a swoop/pod racing game ought to. How hard would it be to make a single swoop track for us to race across for some credits?

Who cares if it's a hybrid, themepark, sandbox, or litterbox game?

Make the damn game compelling, entertaining, and fun enough to hold the interest of players for months/years and it will make lots of money. It's as simple as that.

Trying to copy the success of some other game by copying That Game is the reason this game is now F2P in the first place.

No, NGE is what killed SWG.

Some one is always ripping of some one these days, EQ was ripped off by blizzard and made wow, so nothing suprises me, but the housing feature is a cool feature in any game.. cool Staduim from Harry Potter, folks will spend many hours on that stuff, which is what all these mmo's need these days things for people to do.. I have not played EQII for awhile but I did spend years in the first EQ...
Do not dwell in the past, do not not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.

Expectations lead to suffering

Yeah innovation is the future, certainly.

That innovation will be a hybrid of the the supposed Sandbox/themepark achetypes though.

Bottom line is, they need to keep the profit rolling for the company. IF the Devs are NOT sitting down right now and thinking of how to expand player ships to make them customizable, or make it so we can rent an apartment in a capital city, then there is no hope for the future.

The Real money for the CC shop is player furniture and items for your ship/apartment. Sure they need to focus on content/bugs, but they would have to be insane not to see the cash potential of letting players rent an apartment and buy stuff for it from the CC shop. overnight this game would explode with people subbing to get the ability to create a personal living space in-game, or maybe even creating a guild hall where players could gather for meeting and ops or events.

I would go broke buying apartment upgrades and my spouse with cut all my credits cards up. this is where the money is and all the things we desire would be easy for them to add after being drown in cash.

Yeah this is basically the only hope, they must be thinking about sandy features, if they aren't then SWTOR isn't ever going to be more than it currently is.

Very true.

I spent more money in EverQuest 2 buying furniture off the cash shop for my house then anything else.
