Dev's underestimated importance of 'worthless' features

Didn't mean for this to turn into a fight over past and current MMO's.

I am just saying that non-combat features to hold players over while waiting for new content has been severely under estimated by the devs, who wanted to focus more on "Heroic" experiences.

I would love to see a week Pazaak Tournament on Nar Shaddaa. A monthly Swoop Race on Tatooine and so fourth, It would breath alot of life into the game and gives players a distraction away from the grind.

Same. They are not worthless and actually WAY MORE IMPORTANT than boring raids and pvp instances.

Maybe in their own sense, but I wouldn't go that far.

Well with the F2P model this thing could be a money maker. Add pazaak to the game, unlock for 300 coins and let people who want to play it, play it. Same with swoop racing, holo chess, and sabacc.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
There is no fear; there is power.
I am the mystery of darkness In balance with chaos and harmony,

Mini-games are nice, but not something that's desperately needed. I would expect these things to be on the priority list but lower. Good news is a lot of the quality of life enhancements people wanted at launch are slowing coming in. Each time one does mini-games get a bit of a bump. They will get their eventually.

You're entitled to your opinion I guess. There is a reason mini-games are called mini-games, because they aren't really part of the core game, whereas Operations and PvP are. If you feel there must be mini-games immediately then it seems like the real problem is you don't like the game and want to play a separate game. Just a thought....

The more things we have to do the better that's for sure...
Wisdom in this post. Pure sandbox will fail as hard as pure themepark, but a compromise needs to be found; and SW:ToR is currently far too themepark to have permanent appeal.

It was worthless to them, like free form space flight, one of the bright devs said "han never said to chewie lets jump in the falcon and just fly around" as a way to belittle the feature, some wag from the community retorted that Luke Skywalker never said "lets go beat up Darth Vader and steal his pants!" either.

TL;DR

Suggestion: Put in mini-games and use the existing casino's as a back drop for the mini-games.
