Fresh Install won't go...

Hi All, Got my UK DVD's today (well a couple of days ago but I was on holiday) so have just tried to start my install and it won't even get past the first extraction. It pauses for a while and then comes up with the error message "Star Wars: The Old Republic Install Failed". Have tried it in multiple disk drives multiple times and rebooted the PC many times. Have googled it, but nothing really out there.

Due to my aforementioned holiday I have not been playing the early access at all so this is my first install on any PC.

My problem is that my awful internet (which is just enough to play MMO's) will take about 3-4 days (if not more) to download the 20gb files. Given I have the disks I want to be able to install now.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Not saying it's entirely related, however I had this issue when WoW came out - it seemed a batch of their disks were burned incorrectly. I had to open a support ticket and send it back to them to replace :-(

Unfortunately your only options for now are:

- Try to return it and get another copy
- If a friend has the game, get them to bring it round and install from their disks
- Download the game files
- Download the game files on another computer/network connection and copy them over

I'd submit a ticket or try to return it, since you don't want to hold onto faulty disks, but that might take a while to get a resolution :-(

While it is rare, I do remember a couple games from other publishers that sent out defective discs and customers were having the same issues.

Unfortunately, the only work around is to send the discs back and get a replacement or find a fast connection to download.

If you can find an internet connection download speed of 3mg or faster, it should take you like 3 hours to download at 1-2mg/sec and maybe 45min to update. That is what it took me on FIOS, since the download does not appear to be a torrent file.
