I don't see anything in the patch notes that even touched on companions it was all free to play crap. So how did they manage to screw up all the companions and in that not even fix the HK droids that were awarded without gear.
Undocumented fixes (well, from our view anyway). They only put half the notes public in any given patch, the rest probably include something that screwed them up.

But, is it the end? Hardly. Does it validate the hater hate? For them, sure. But then again, they hate anyway.

I've seen worse in terms of patches in other games. Much, much worse. Bluescreens, rollbacks, etc. etc.

So... let's hope they fix it very very soon. Complaints are warranted but this is hardly the end of the world.
This bug is hardly the end of the world... but the fact that this has happened a few times in the past. That's ridiculous. I can't remember playing Rift or WoW and seeing old bugs come back again and again like this. This isn't the only one too. WZ wins not counting... does that sound familiar?

Sounds exactly like they use an OLD CODE BASE ... AGAIN!

Yes. They're acting like a development shop that doesn't have regular software releases, which is what they were until the day they launched this game.

You'd think they'd have learned release management in a year. I mean, it's challenging, especially for a project this big, but it's not a year's worth of challenging.

The problem with this one is, it's going to affect almost everyone. All players will face much tougher challenges doing all their solo quests. Hopefully they've at least put something in the launcher to let players who don't come to the forums know there's a really big issue.

You'd think programmers working at a large corporation would have learned about version control at some point in their careers.

How can they? The guys that were there at the beginning of the year aren't there anymore. Maybe they forgot to document this down for the next set of people they brought in.

No excuses. It was a cut an paste job. But... I guess I'm just a grizzled vet. Seen it all, and yes, I remember re-occurring bugs in other games. But frankly, it didn't matter much as they were fixed in short order.

However, their response to a fix is key. It should happen asap. Hec, even taking down the servers mid day is not unwarranted. If we have to wait a week? No excuse for it.

No kidding. If anyone actually reads this from EAware:

Serina is your friend! I would look into this or a similar set of products to help manage your code base.

/facepalm

Agreed. They should shut everything down for "emergency maintenance" and least ROLL BACK to yesterday's build until they fix the bug.
