Now firstly the game hasn't been out for a year and if this reviewer left so quickly obviously means he facerolled one character to 50 and left. Then what came back recently to do what exactly ? He probably doesn't even realise that you get a lot of orange offhanded weapons as mission rewards. So no You actually need to play a game properly to actually give a decent review , this guy hasn't maybe he can stay this time for about 6 months or so and write it again ?

As a Kotor-lover and someone who dumped lots of time into this for the first 6 months or so when it came out - sadly, I agree with pretty much all of it.

I mean't 6 months from now onwards because he obviously left after a few days , when the game was as busy as now and stayed busy for about 2-3 months. MMO's take time to play and to see all of the game , so well doesn't have to be 6 months but it certainly has to be more than 1 week and then another week 11 months later.

Anyways it's all horses for courses. Take for example a couple of reviews of albums below.

NME gave The Orb - Orbus Terrarum 2/10 and yet Rolling Stone magazine gave it album of the month.
NME gave MR. Bungle - Disco Volante 1/10 and yet I see it as an amazing album.

Go figure. Try SWTOR and if you like it play it. Nuff said.

Cheers,

BadOrb.

To me, this reads like a review of the F2play options, rather than the game. And as such, I'd have to agree that they are worth around a 4/10.

I'm a subscriber (obviously) so didn't really know much about the restrictions, but some of them are way too draconian, now I see them written down.

However, saying TOR has been left in the dust by TSW is frankly laughable. It's a decent game, but it does absolutely nothing that TOR doesn't do - except have a barbershop.

It's also far, far more of a lobby game.

The article is spot on.

And for the people who keep asking "If it sucks so much why are you still paying for it?".

The answer is simple, I stopped paying for it over the summer and came back to give it one last try and see if they learned anything.

I was subesequently hit with the 1.5 "Cash Shop" patch which by its very nature was a massive change to the game. Said patch was released 2 days before a holiday week so the bugs introduced with 1.5 including the mislabeled and bugged Cash Shop items which they will admit are their fault but will not reimburse under any circumstance....go unchecked going on 10 days now. They literally have bugs live right now costing people money. Use an XP potion? Better not make the mistake of using any other kind of potion at the same time or it gets overridden and you lose...cash. What kind of company fighting for subscribers and income releases a huge bug filled patch then freaking leaves for a week? A really crappy one.

I am able to post because I gave them a chance to win me back. Not only did they not do that, they embarassed themselves with how shockingly they have treated this IP.

Bioware/EA have learned nothing. 4/10 is generous. They literally took out a planets entire purpose (PVP) and replaced it with...Nothing.

And for anyone who is holding on to some mistaken belief this game has anywhere close to 500K subsribers you really should go look at the Quarterly Statement released Oct 30th. They not only would not discuss SWTOR subscriber numbers they pointed out they would have to revisit SWTOR revenue after FTP went live....

Why would they do that? Because their self committed break even point was 500k and they are well below it and by SEC regulations would have to submit a guidance that income would be off...so they put in a deferal. Now they will be able to put in the guidance but pretty it up a little with the F2P dollars they will no doubt get. Expect it by Dec 30th.

You fanbois shuld ask yourself something....When have you been right about the state of this game? Easy answer...you have yet to be right. It has lost subscribers by droves since day 1. It has gone F2P in under a year (something fanbois swore would NEVER happen) and now the F2P model is the laughing stock of the industry.

It was clear this game was going F2P in under a year back in Jan. It is also now clear this game will not see a 2nd aniversary.
This is my signature.

You also forgot an earlier report where EA informed the investors that SWTOR was no longer a priority title for them. That while it was not one of their "top games" it still made more than "Tiger Wood's Golf".

I think 4/10 was a bit harsh. I would give it a 5/10, maybe 6/10 tops at the moment. If SWTOR follows most F2P models from here on out (and there are exceptions, mind you), and given EA's statements in the past 6 months of their view of the game and its importance to them now, I fully expect a lot of future development to be Cash Shop oriented, ala SOE and Cryptic.

If something changes within a game, it will essentially change a rating of a game. Or to perhaps explain my drivel a little better, If I rated this game 8/10 right when it launched and since then after F2P, the amount of content added, the amount of bugs fixed etc, were taken into account. How could a rating of 7 or 6/10 be bad (or in this guy's case 4/10)?

Again that is an example.

So There were changes made to the game, this would definitely warrant a change in rating if the person doing the rating was influenced positively or negatively by the change.

Not sure if I am explaining it right.

Back in history. (extreme example)

SWG = at launch up to the cu (OPINION, JUST MY OPINION) Let's say 7/10

After NGE and a change to the game (drastic I know ) 4/10

You can take his review or leave it. But a game can get better or worse.

I Rate it 7/10. But as someone posted, What does my opinion mater LOL

Cheers!
