I'm not sure how they are ''essential'' to PVE story and ops as 90% of the enemies (especially the ones you'd want to stun) are immune to stuns, roots, knockbacks, etc. So while this would be a good counter argument on paper, it isn't even true.

What CC are people talking about? People make this game sound like all ccs have a 0 second cd an its just cc after cc but NO ITS NOT. If you read my comprehensive list of ccs, you will see that all of them have at least a 45 second cd.

I've been playing since pre launch and the stuns, mezzes, roots, etc are indeed getting out of control. There are some rounds where it really does feel like you are CCd the entire time.

I'm not quitting but I really believe bioware needs to take a good hard look at it. I think a general reduction in CC times is needed or at least increase the cooldown on many of those abilities.

I don't care about stun-fest, but 2 mins stun BREAKER makes me mad! 2mins breaker vs 3-10 stuns per one minute? Really?

As a stealth/ranged class it's not so bad. You aren't going to be hit with most of the collateral aoe mez/kb/stuns out there.

As a melee character? It's ridiculous. I spent a good bit of a civil war last night noticing that the enemy team including 4 snipers and 3-4 sins (maybe 1 sorc), was trying to keep my focus guardian away from them. For every gap closer I had, there were 3+ aoe kbs at the ready (and lots of mezzs, roots and stuns). There was no way I was going to do damage with anything but an instant attack and there were no followups possible. In a Huttball (yesterday again) my sentinel got pulled/pushed into 4 separate traps and stunned in under 2 min (by different enemies). There's no way for a melee character to "posiiton himself" so that he won't get exposed to a trap - not in huttball (while trying to win) - basically there were ~4 2-shot, no chance to escape, kills (I did use my cc-breaker from one of the traps but got kb'd/rooted right afterwards, still in the trap) all from cc. The cc levels are not "tactical" and not fun.

I'm not quitting this game over this only because there isn't really another good pvp option out there right now (I have other issues with GW2). But I can't recommend it to anyone and I have to believe that a lot of the f2p crowd is not regretting their payment plan.

DoTs can be cleansed relatively easily and repeatedly by several class. CCs can not.

I think most players that have played MMOs before understand the need for CCs in a game, it helps to develop tactics and coordination. But at what point do those necessary CCs become over the top and do more harm to the game than good?

I don't think people are arguing against the idea of CCs in the game, just the amount that exists and the fact that you can be, very easily, stun locked from 20K health to death and that the resolve system is not working. Or, at least, not working well.
well that's the entire point, isn't it? They're there to do harm

my point is you're just a bunch of crybabies because you cannot have full control over your ingame avatar, and you barely understand why it angers you.

Stop right there

If you were all about the tactics, you would adapt to the scenario this game presents: stuns! STUNS STUNS!!!

it's a different game and a different set of obstacles. No, you cannot get out of every stun scenario due to there being more stuns more often than you can break... but, again, why should it be the other way? The game's fine as it is, you CC-QQers are just mad at the game's mechanics.

You know, why not just have all stuns break when you receive damage? Seems like an easy solution.

I mean really, to whom do you think they are referring?

They couldn't nerf their (meaning Maras) damage because anyone paying attention knows they weren't doing more damage than PTs anyway.

They couldn't nerf their survivability, because contrary to popular belief, they die as much on average per WZ as any other DPS class, they just have two very noticeable abilities that make people feel like they are "cheating death".

So how do you nerf a class that Bioware said was "performing exactly as they expected"? You make a sweeping change that affects (and annoys) EVERYBODY, but that just happens to annoy/affect Maras a little bit more.

We have a ridiculous amount of CC in this game because people aren't as good at running away from people, as they are running towards them. So now we ALL get to spend a little more time standing still, so people can get better at it. Plain and simple.

Well said man. cheers
