In Return Of The Jedi, The Emperor said "Take your Jedi weapon. Use it. I am unarmed. Strike me down with it. Give in to your anger." When he said this in the movie, it made me think only Jedi used lightsabers. Sure the prequels proved that wrong, but my Sith Sorcerer has no need for a lightsaber, because he has such a strong command of the force. You think it's honestly going to wreck your immersion to see 3 or 4 people on the fleet using these, when there are players named "Wat-what Inubutt"?

Some guy with an axe fighting someone who is skilled with a sword type weapon and standing their ground makes no sence. Axes are purly offensive and are useless when it comes to blocking. Star Wars has had a lot of "conventional" melee weapons for a long time... including axes (vibroaxe and normal), vibroknives, swords (both vibroswords and normal), etc. There's nothing unusual or lore-compromising in that. In fact, I'd love some more variety like Rykk blades (common among wookies) or the gaderffii (gaffi stick) of the Tusken for example.
