I like having +15% healing boost when Defense Screen is active, its nice for its moments, even tho it gets used up fast when zerged in PVP. As for stats, max cunning and power. Since there are a few skillpoints that buffs critical hits (30% more crit damage to your big heal and aoe heal, higher crit chance for small free heal), having both crit and surge above 300 is handy. You dont want too much because of diminishing returns tho. Atm I got 321 crit rating and 450 surge rating, while only 114 alacrity rating. I might be better off switching some surge for alacrity and crit a bit closer to 350, but as this is an alt I haven't bothered too much in getting the perfect itemization or the absolute BiS. I'd say ~350 crit, 350-450 surge and the rest to alacrity. Some might do a bit lower, but I'm not saying my numbers are the best. Bottom line is you shouldn't ignore those stats. When it comes to rotation, it mainly comes down to using 5 heals. - Slow-release medpac: Ticks for big numbers and gives you extra Upper Hand charges. Spam this. - Underworld medicine: Your main big heal. Builds UH. Great synergy with Emergency medpac. - Emergency Medpac: Free and instant heal when you got spare UH charges. Nice to use instantly after a Underworld Medicine cast, which will make both heals apply at the same time, healing your target for big numbers at a total cost of 25 energy. - Kolto Cloud: Aoe heal that heals 4 people over 6 seconds. Remember to pick up the +15% from PVP 2set. - Diagnostic Scan: Free scan with very high chance of crit. Also builds energy. Great to use between slow-release medpac spam to keep energy above 70. Gets a lot better with some alacrity. These are the 5 main heals you will use. Then theres the last healing ability, which is very situational. - Kolto Pack: You don't really need to use this at all, but good healers will have it ready when needed. It heals for more than Emergency Medpack, but also costs 20 energy. This makes energy management a lot harder, which is why I'd advice to only use this for 'oh snap'-moments when you need to heal someone for a LOT and fast, and got Cool Head ready to get your energy back up. And then its ofcourse to use Triage when needed. And keep your Pugnacity buff up at all times.

Stats/gear- 2 piece pvp set, 2 piece pve set.Go for high cunning,power and surge.Take as little alac as possible as it does the least for us, alittle is ok just not a heap. Spec- any spec with 31 points in swabones is fine, feel free to tweak as you go. Rotation/skills-no real rotation more a simple set of tools to use, For a start take kolto pack off your bar. It casts the same speed as UWH,uses 5 less energy and consumes a UH charge while healing less than UWH and barely more than a instant heal. IMO its really not worth it. Slow release med pac-Try to roll this on as many targets as possible, at a barest minimum use it on the Mt and OT. Diag scan- Love this heal, ~1200+ healing in under 2 secs with chances to proc extra energy.love it,use it!!! UWH- Our bomb heal, I use this alot and tend to follow up instantly with a instant heal. Watching 11k of heals land in a GCD is a beautiful thing. Insta heal that uses UH- Also a glorious thing,great for stabilising people and getting them out of danger zones. Dispel- When you can get away with not dispelling this is a handy little heal, instant,cheap and can crit upto 1k (in my gear) Kolto cloud- Our only AOE heal and while it is not as powerful as the sorc heal it is a great tool. use in a clump of players or use it as another HoT on the tank. It ticks every second and for is critting just under 1k.

So, I think I know what I'm talking about, others may disagree Have to say I'm looking forward to 1.5 and the free respecs! For pvp, never take medscreen. Unless you're up against lower skilled players, you'll almost always have someone attacking you (one hit from a marauder will pop it ). The lower cooldown on dirty kick will save your life so many times (interupts ravage, stuns pts so you can run away, etc). My main tip for pvp as a smuggler is use cover. I always make sure I'm in cover (crouching is fine) whenever I'm not moving, as this means warriors and knights can't leap to me, forcing them to walk up to me, get flashbanged and have to walk after me as I've run away and dropped back into cover. Mmomechanics ran the numbers on surge/alacrity for smugglers a while back, so I'll summarise briefly. Essentially, at 250 surge, alacrity becomes better for burst healing. At 300-350 surge, alacrity becomes better for sustained healing, so for pve you should never have more than 350 surge. However, one of the coming patches (not sure if it's 1.5) will be increasing the limit before diminishing returns sets in, so 450 may become viable in the future. In high level pvp, your heals wil almost always get interupted so more surge is good as you'll simply never get the chance to use underworld medicine (and thus alacrity is pretty much useless).

Not at home so I can't recall how I had my gear exactly for askmrrobot. Basically, crit remains largely the same (350 crit rating and stacked skill augments), take two healer war hero implants (the one with alacrity) and stack surge enchancements on the rest of your gear. Don't worry too much about custom pvp bracers and belt (use 58 or 61 pve ones if you have 1200 expertise) as the elite war hero ones will probably be moddable like the dreadguard versions. The grind that pvp gear takes means it's hard to totally optimise gear, so you're generally aiming at around 40% crit and 78% surge with about 100-150 alacrity for normals and moments when you get time to cast underworld medicine. If you don't care about how your gear looks, pick up two pve shells and stick your pvp mods and armorings (not war hero armourings, that'll overule the set bonus) in them to help with your aoe, 4 piece bonus for both sets isn't that great. However, with the new elite war hero gear, this will probably become obsolete

Hehe, thanks, something to do while I wait for a pvp pop on my dead server
