Pvp arena?!!?

Absolutely, I would love world pvp to flourish in this game.

As for arenas, I would have to be against them. They are just a toxic poison in all MMO's. I played them in WoW for a couple years and a few things tend to happen:

- Forums blow up with angry nerfherders demanding that every class but their own gets nerfed to the ground so they have a better time playing

- Developers start to attempt to "Balance" the classes against one another, causing more abilities to be added, as well as other 'fixes'

- Altering abilities and cooldowns for PvP use, usually has an effect on PvE performance, then the developers will attempt to balance that, causing an "OP" class in PvP

I'm sure there are more reasons than just the few I listed, but I hope you get the idea.

NOTE: As of now, I see the classes are fairly balanced, and the pvp is fun and enjoyable, the way it should be.

I believe a Warhammer online system will be more succesfull for this game.

Contested zones and the 2 sides fighting for em. Objectives need capturing for a planet control.... something like that....

You're most definitely wrong. EVERY poll has crushed this delusion that arena is popular. It's decidedly unpopular. However I'm not against arena in general just against any reward being associated with it. Ranked PvP does not belong in the MMO genre, there are plenty of xbox games that are specifically designed for that. I think arena would be generally accepted, by PvPers who saw how much it ruined PvP in WoW, if it rewarded nothing at all.

These games are specifically suited to mass PvP in the form of world PvP with warzones being useful for down times in that.

Not sure why WoWers have the belief that competitive PvP and WZ's are mutually exclusive.

I'd much rather have new, fresh, objective based rated WZ's being released for everyone, which are much more enjoyable, than a square of sand with 4 pillars with a "competitive" sticker on it.

It doesnt have to be arena, just make it so that its a pvp scenario that awards the high rated players with gear that looks cooler then anyone elses, throw a ladder on top and we got a 10/10 game

That poster never said that it required no skill just that comp is more important than skill. That poster is absolutely right. Combine some skill with the right FoTM comp and it was faceroll easy to get 2200 rating. Combine skill with the wrong comp for that season and watch as you struggle to reach 1800 rating. This is why you saw no hunters and only one paladin in the top 25 ranked teams in 3s this past season. Arena is a pathetic example of skill.
