Well thought out post OP =)

I personally dig the ideas that bring in NPCs as part of "your army". Such circumstances would really make player characters feel and look like true heroes on the battlefield =D

Seriously, imagine a 8v8 or 12v12 or something, and while theyre running around the field, you also have like 50-100 weak/normal skilled NPC enemies/allies. You can be in the middle of an epic clash and suddenly you spot that enemy player and they spot you. You look like the generals in the other teams eyes. I can see some exploiting going on there. Ppl who would only attack you if they saw you in a fight with 2-3 npcs or would lure you around a corner where several npcs were waiting......but then its really the players fault. Eh, overall I like =D

Xothrim Sunshatter: Cyborg Madness Sorcerer
Loreldia Sunshatter: Cyborg Medic Commando

I like the mobile defense/VIP idea. A varation could be something similar to the Payload game mode from team fortress 2. It could be modified so you have to escort a walker of some sort through various checkpoints while the other team has to block it by controlling the points or setting up obstacles. Each checkpoint gives the team more time and if they reach the enemies base the walker destroys it. It just be very cool to see an imperial walker or republic equivalent on the battlefield.

@anstalt

I do like your idea of Rated warzones where you have earn a skill rank that depreciates. Starcraft 2 and Halo both had that and I thought it worked well. But I would also say generic armor as an option would be a good supplement to that. Then roughly equivalently skilled people with same gear makes the matches more about team work then player ability or gear. On the other hand I would like an even gear match only so that poeple can test them selves against higher skilled players on even gear ground. I say this because placing people in skill tiers prevents them from learning from more skilled players to and could get some people stuck in a tier because they only get to see people making the same mistakes as them. I do think skill rank should be a filter option and the filter is most important option PVP does not currently have Then introducing infection maps, or standardised gear maps, maps with NPCs or ranked skill maps are options you can play if you want and players who don't want to ... don't have to play that way.

You do bring up a good point about a central spawn point in hutt ball but I would also point out that if they get the ball away from then middle your defense would always be running to catch them so the battle would become a king of the hill and players would learn not to follow out off the middle are because it is pritty much over when they do, this would make huttball mostly a big death match in the middle. If I may suggest an improvement to that design, put a "transporter" at the current spawn point to the middle right side from your base that activates when the shield is down at the spawn point. Then players can choose and you get your work around and the option to jump to the middle so one side dominating the other is harder. That is what they did in blood gulch halo and without vehicles on the map it is very effective.

As far as special abilities in hutball, i like the idea of making it so that you can't sprint or jump to players while you have the ball, even more I would say players can't pull the ball carrier friend or foe.

Bumpedy bump.

But if they don't add any new, unique PvP content by the end of this year, then I'm just kidding myself and this game was always meant for PvEers only, and this game clearly isn't for me nor is it meant for any other PvPer. I don't see how you can have an MMO without PvP. I mean seriously, are they any other MMOs out there that doesn't have PvP and survived for very long, cuz I'm not aware of any.

The New BG is going to be a "Field control" map like Alder-an but only 2 control points, mixed with a "Slayer" map. If no one manages to control both point for the game it goes to who has the most kills, so I can see most fights just being slayer fests. So what do you think?

My Guild mate Aravos posted: Interesting... im sure itll be players killing others rather then playing objective based, as usual.

It tend to agree, it will be interesting basically have a slayer map. Hope it works out well but I wonder if it might be helped by some tier 2 equivalent turrets that way if you don't have tear 1 or a full set of tier 2 you don't just die over and over, you could defend choke points on the map and it would not nullify gear because you would be vulnerable to hirer tier gear as you try to get to them or if you are fighting in open field because you can't find a free turret or just because that is where the action is.

This is Kailaurius by the way since I can't post using that name anymore. This will be my last bump only because I just wanted to make a QQ statement. I cancelled my sub on August 14th because I finally had to force myself to come to the realization that Bioware has no intention of adding any new unique PvP content, or any new unique content for that matter, to the game. It's a real bummer because I really enjoy the Star Wars genre in MMOs, and I really love PvP, and I had held on to the hope for the longest time that they would eventually add, if even just a little, some different types of PvP into the game. It's certainly not too much to ask from an MMO in general, but maybe I was just expecting too much from Bioware. I guess their main focus is on PvE. But even if it was, I have never seen a company give so much neglect to PvP in an MMO as I have seen from Bioware. Oh well. That's why I moved on.

I do miss playing the game somewhat, but not enough to play the same warzones over and over again ad nauseum. And after reading the posts in the PvP forum, it appears things are still the same, so I have no regrets of cancelling. Even if they did finally start adding different types of PvP content in the near future, which they won't, it will not bring me back. The last thing I would want to do is play catch-up.

So anyway, to the PvP players that decided to stick with the game in hopes of new content, I wish you good luck and maybe one day, but I doubt it. It seems to be pretty much a foregone conclusion. There's always another cookie-cutter warzone.
