been playing some guns of icarus myself
Yep if i had an imp toon at lv 50 i would not play republic at all. All of Old school in particular and a number of other players must either be botting ,smashing their face into the keyboard or selecting abilities from the abilities menu.

It has gotten stage where to win with these players you must hope you have a premade or people you know can play or hope the imps fall asleep at the keyboards and these days with the number of republic pvpers left you are always going to get these players.I do not even enjoy playing pvp anymore as it is against the same people over and over with the same teams. Bioware DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE APAC SERVERS i have now unsubbed and will not resub until there is either mergers or transfers. i Know this problem will be considered for a few days so maybe by the time you have come to an answer you might be able to transfer or merge the one player left on each server.

They've been assessing the pop over a few days since 1.4 HOW MANY DAYS DOES IT TAKE TO ASSESS IT OVER A FEW DAYS.

FFS.

I get on, play one wz then stop pvping. It's ridiculous.

This is the state of the pub pvp scene, you have a clicky group of geared snobs (not all) who have been playing for who knows how long whining about low population on the fleet and a lack of skilled players yet new players are welcomed with scorn and disdain. You probably forget ( or likely have not experienced) what it's like grinding out comms on your first toon with low pop, crap gear and ridiculously tough opposition. I try to get fresh 50's to pvp as much as I can only to see them give up because they are abused and harassed by the more experienced players while they are trying to learn, once they do the maths and see how long it will take in this climate for them to become competitive they give up and PVE or quit. If these guys were given some encouragement/advice/organised ranked games (balanced with experienced players) to speed up the grind.....

I am sure you guys were insta pros, <Old School> can only wish we were gifted with your superior mmo genetics while we grind out gear and skills playing against pre-made <Midian> and the like.

If I had a 50 toon I would probably not play republic at all either, from what I gather there are relatively less immature ******** and they have skilled players fostering others instead of peering down their noses at them.......and it really shows in the wz's.

I think this is a legitimate concern.
I do not agree with calling people out about gear, or pvp knowledge or anything like that it is just BS.
On your part try to listen to any instructions that are given, ignore the trolling and pay attention.

The community is too small for elitist BS, we dont need to be driving players away.

The one thing I'm sick to death of is people who have multiple toons at 50, yet only grind gear out on their 1 full war hero min-maxed and augmented toon then legacy gear it across. It's weak as ****, and it makes the game suck *** for anyone who has just hit 50 and wants to PvP.

I leveled my sentinel to 50 for my PvE guild and thought I might as well try PvP with it. The thing is, even when I go up against people who are also fresh 50, they have at least full war hero and if they're a vanguard (Which most of them are, learn to play some other *********** classes jesus christ) then they more than likely have the mainhand too aswell as the offhand.

At 50 in recruit gear, who the hell wants to go up against wull war hero players and get roflstomped over and over? It's not even a matter of skill, on my sent im 16k hp, ive got the 5 armour peices of Battlemaster, war hero main and off and recruit everything else. When I go up against someone who is less skilled and plays a class that is simple as **** (vanguards, lolsweep guards) I STILL get roflstomped even thought I'm fairly competent at most classes now.

The only person I've seen in Midian gearing up a fresh 50 so far is Guthybear, and he hasn't been in any of their 4-man groups in norms (Surprise surprise, right? Why would they take someone not rofl-stomp capable?, they might lose a game!)

So I propose this.

Midian; Solo queue for once, help out other players, teach them how to play different warzones and talk to them about things they're doing wrong, hell even small class things you might be able to help them out on. That also goes for Outrageous/Ewok/Big Boys/Boss/Nightmare, all the big guilds. There's no community feel on the imp side, all I see are Midian queueing in their groups, farming everyone and not offering help to any other players, all the while making it extremely hard for any fresh 50 to feel motivated.

As far as bad players go, there are a few on the pub side and the imp side who I try and offer advice to, I have a lot of classes and know most of their specs well so when I see someone not playing to their full potential I offer advice, but some people aren't so open to it. I was leveling my Merc recently and I noticed quite a few Old School players with sents/guards who are actually playing very well, I don't know if they're fresh players or if they have imp mains but they know what they're doing.

Davito can blame the low population all he wants but they are doing NOTHING to help this server. Stop. Being. So. Selfish.

With all due respect the Midian thing is not their fault nor yours or mine, its purely and simply a population issue.

Midian have every right to que on any toon they choose as does everyone else.

Ideally there would be 50-60 plus people queing for pvp each night, such that you would not really get hit by the Midian express train very much at all, but when you did, you would get exactly what alot of people are asking for from Midian, advice on how to play.
Of course Midian hands out advice in the best pvp way possible...by smashing faces in.
I agree with this approach, you get to hate them, fear them, despise them and then finally admire and aspire to beat them.
Its just that with a tiny population of pvpers atm, you run into Midian (if they are queing, I hear they are doing a fair amount of PVE recently) far more than you would on a decently populated server.

I dont expect Midian to hold anyones hand, nor do I expect any quarter from the at all, ever.
I do of course understand that people in recruit gear who are new to pvp have a shocking experience, if they get Midian 4 man or even 8 man groups over and over and over.
But this is Biowares fault, not Midian's.

Think of it this way.
You log on to play with your mates, smash out the daily HM FP, while joking around on Mumble, then someone says "hey lets rack for PVP", everyone goes "yeah great lets do it"..
ooopps hold on, we are not allowed to rack as a group of mates, becacause of xyz issue...
How is this fair to them?

It would be great to have a solution to this issue but the only real solution that does not disenfranchise some players is a bigger population.

My friendly advice, direct your anger or frustration where it belongs', at Bioware.

It's not their fault but they could doing a lot more to help considering their position as the best PvP guild on the server.

We don't play balanced games to help people gear. We play for warfare. Anyone suspected of wanting to join one of the balanced games I'm involved in are not welcome to be there.

Also I rarely see people called out due to gear, I see them generally called out because they've made the same mistakes every single day for the past month, despite being advised otherwise. This is frustrating, if you're not willing to learn then expect people to get angry at you.

I agree that playing ranked simply to to farm comms is not right, from what I understand that's why people play balanced. We played 6 games last night and despite losing all of them they were fun, competitive games.

I understand that some people have trouble handling their emotions especially in the heat of 'battle' and getting a little over excited when you remind someone to guard a door or fight on a node etc is fine. The stuff I see is far beyond that and new players are permanently put off pvp.
