So fail.

NO "earth holidays" (heck the real meanings are lost even today in a secular selfish society)!

The holiday events IF they did any should be based in the "lore" of the SWEU ONLY.

Well I dunno if there's actual seasons (although seasons of some sort are mentioned in the films of course) to moisture harvesting on Tattooine, but if there are then I suspect it would be a pretty big deal there when the harvest comes in/is sold.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

I see your point there. Obviously, the fact that they're not doing anything is a good indication that they couldn't pull it off. Still, one can dream.

If you think that adding Earth holidays in SWTOR is bad because it doesn't follow lore...then you're either on a RP server or you're an idiot. I mean really? I know I'm not the only one who constantly sees awful, though sometimes hilarious, character names floating around. And you think THAT doesn't break lore? So adding Earth holidays, or even holidays similar in fashion, breaks the game for you but seeing "Jabba the Butt" run around with Green Black core lightsabers while wearing a slave girl outfit doesn't? ...Really?

Look, sorry for all the condescending stuff above this, but come on guys and gals this is a JUST a game. We are a community. We celebrate holidays as people in real life together, and it would be nice to celebrate holidays with our friends in SWTOR as well. Just a place where we can wish each other happy holidays surrounded by festive decor. Where we can swap funny Christmas stories and see who pulled off the best Halloween prank. Its just something to bring the community together a little closer around the holidays where schedules become hectic. I'm not saying we go all out and have Santa Claus outfits as unlockable social gear, but would anyone really get THAT mad over 1 big Christmas tree on the fleet?

There's my Dark Side and Light Side responses. In all seriousness, everyone has their own strong feelings and opinions about this game. Just remain calm and try to explain where you're coming from. Let's not have this thing explode into a name calling and personal bashing thread. Have a good one everyone!

I'm not a fan of holiday events but I certainly wouldn't mind if they were there. Heck I might even participate just to see what it's about. What I do want however is an event where I can get some black/green crystals since I wasn't around for rakghoul events.

For those raging about not wanting an event...what does it do to you? If you would never participate in it...does that mean a majority wouldn't too just because you wouldn't?

I mean c'mon, did anyone not notice the numbers when the Rakghoul event hit...yeah..ugh-huh..."no one" wants these events.... Also..how would an event break anything (not talking about bugs)? Like others have pointed out, either you are too strong of an RP player and need to take it easy, or you look around for once and see all the already "breaking" aspects in TOR....what the hell would a 1-2week event do to anyone?

*Gasp* Maybe....stop the log on, grind dailies/weeklies/log off routines...!

I was thinking this earlier, you have a point. If they did do something, and if I could have nothing to do with it, and there's no visible, or audible sign that it's around, then why not. I know some might think I'm a grinch, but if I wanted to celebrate a holiday, I can do that in rl(which I don't, I'm already sick of hearing about Christmas, and seeing decorations up already). Maybe you could turn the game sound down and put on some carols, that might make you feel better

Do I want "in game events"? Sure! Do I want "in game holidy events based off of "earth" holidays"? Most emphatically NO!

There is a ton of lore they could use to have "events". The holiday events that would be most applicable to "todays" denizens of the SWTOR universe would be based off of the "war" for galactic-wide "celebrations" to "planitary only" celebrations based off of the "war" or "history" of the planet.

I don't see the "need" to have "earth" holidays in a game that is "in a galaxy far far away in a time LONG ago".

Right, because have no audio or visuals for an event would make it just, spectacular. I'm going to hint at the sarcasm here.

As for the rest of you, I have to point our that you live on Earth. There are humans walking around in your video game. There are plenty of influences from Earth in your game, and no matter how hard you want it to be true, you don't actually exist within this MMO.

Call it whatever you want, or have an event not holiday specific, but people do expect events during the holidays. Many reasons for this. One, people have more time around holidays, ie vacation. But, it kills the lore lol.

You know what really kills the lore? 4 lowbies killing Revan. That kills the lore. A Halloween event wouldn't. Have it on the Voss planet, with the dead lands or whatever, make it a festival. Bam. Lore intact, and people get a holiday event.

People are way too closed minded and apparently have no imagination.
