Ah, holiday events. The days during which you stop logging in to TOR for anything but raids just to play the events in other MMO's.

It's time for BioWare to loosen up with TOR and start introducing things like these holiday events. Give it a Star Wars flavor sure, but do not skip out on it. They break away from the generic leveling drag which are commonly found in MMO's, including TOR, and offer something new for a change. Including funky collectibles, etc.

"Tacky" can be argued upon.

If by "tacky" you collecting pumpkins, having armor that looks like it is from a Halloween store, or something, then yes I would agree. If it was something like an eerie, dark atmosphere with another Rakghoul, etc event then that would probably favor a nice amount of people.

For some of us not having some sort of Holiday related event makes the game more stagnant..what's the point of logging on X days if everything will be the same...with some sort of event(s) thinggs wouldn't be so cut + paste and give a little flavor for once.

This is the kind of thing I looked forward to in SWG...by a certain time of the year I'd know X event was coming and I would try to plan to play SWG as much as I coul to take part in it....for TOR...I'd look at how nothing is happening and I'll just log off doe awhile.

Actually, the holiday special is NOT canon. It was not created by Lucasfilm, it was a 20th Century Fox cash-in.

In any event, the holiday in the special does NOT equal christmas or halloween or any other Earth event.

Feel free to argue that with George Lucas, he made the decision it was canon.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

If I recall, the quote was 'No real life holidays will be in SWTOR'. Basically, if it's not a Canon Star Wars holiday, we won't see it here.

They could have done something if they really wanted too. Although Rak'Ghouls are kinda of played out we have that. Or they could have did something with Star Wars Death Troopers. The fact that they did nothing while every other MMO is doing something just shows how weak the game's Dev department has become.
