Using your analogy SWTOR is the cable provider and channels are the content. Subscribers get all the channels the provider offers because there is no content that is off-limits to subscribers. At least for this game the subscription model is not a subset of F2P - it's the other way around.

Now ... if you want to add custom skins and avatar goodies to the listings interface or be able to temporarily scroll through channels quicker, you'll find those items in the shop. Plus, many of the vanity and enhancement items (just not all) that are available in the shop will also be available as rare drop items & schematics so subscribers who refuse to do the F2P thing can still obtain them by simply playing the game.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

Necessary Edit: I would like to state that I do not think I should get everything in the Cartel Shop with no effort, I will happily grind for days to acquire an item or perk, however as a subscription paying player I do not feel I should have to invest 1 red cent more than the current sub fees to acquire said items.
You're going to be highly disappointed. They wouldn't be giving subbers a monthly stipend if everything in the cash shop was free for them, would they?

Nothing they announced so far for the cash shop would get me to spend money. Really only thing I'd want would be purple (color) lightsaber crystals for Republic...MAYBE some good looking orange gear, since most of the gear already in game is clown shoe or homeless transvestite looking. I don't need XP boosts since I already outlevel every planet I go to. I don't need 10 different speeders. I never use any of my pets I already have, and I'm not going to buy any.

I feel like the F2P model is being forced on me.

PS its not about the amount of money, I am comfortably retired and well off. It is the corporate greed I see in this that disgusts me.
what did they force on you? just keep youre sub up and everything stays the same for u?
I seriously do not understand why that people are complaining? to few wz,to few deads,no speeder bla bla bla...
DO NOT CHOOSE f2p and do what i do.pay 15 euro each month...

I certainly understand the sentiment of the OP. There should be a way to earn extra cartel coins (for subs only), just be doing in-game activities. Or maybe you can sell your crafted items to other players for cartel coins. I don't know if they are transferable, but I think that may be a possibility.

On the other hand, think of it like this: I buy a car. Purchasing the car gives me access to all of the car's features. No part of the car is unavailable to me. However, if I want fancy headlights, a new stereo, or a new paint job, I have to purchase those things separately. If I don't buy them, I still have full access to my car. If I want more from my car experience, I can put more money into it.
You like free stuff, right? Click on this referral link to get yours. I'll get a little something, too. Welcome home. #freethelekku

You don't get much F2P on your cable though do you, so it's rather different I think.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

Usually you can get your car built to order if you will pay for it.

Not sure how that relates to a game subscription though....... it would be more akin to leasing a car surely?

I do not think you are understanding. The game will not be staying the same for me as there will be new stuff to acquire that I as a subscription paying player will not have access to without paying extra for micro transactions. It does not matter what the stuff is or if I actually want a single item in the shop, the point is that they are taking away from us subscription players by introducing new stuff and not allowing us to have it (no matter how insignificant the stuff is for our gameplay) unless we pay extra.

Pay Per View? At least the SWTOR subscription includes all the PPV channels that F2P will have to pay extra for. In the case of flashpoints, warzones & operations channels, it's definitely freeview → PPV for F2P.

Ya. I asked Blizzard for the WoW open world mounted combat option and they told me I had to subscribe to LotRO's Rohan expansion to get it. Not all options are available from all manufacturers. Your mileage may vary.

You are wrong on this. U will get every month cartel points for being subt. it will just take longer then people who pay. But in the end u will get those items to. If u can not wait and wand them asap. then u pay.
