At the end of the day all I hear with regard to lowering subs and F2P is:

This Guy.

I agree with this. I'd even argue that they could knock it down to $7 or $5 per month depending on how much BioWare & EA intend to charge for the Warzones & Flashpoints. If it's $1 for a weekly pass for each one, then it's about the same price as a $5/month subscription. More people would be enticed to subscribe giving the company a steady, monthly income in addition to whatever shop items are purchased.

I think that $9.99 is a good price point, but $7 would be ideal, in my opinion.

They should charge 9.99 and not give the traditional 5 dollars worth of virtual coins. It would be the same thing basically as 14.99 with 5 dollars of virtual coins.

I think what is being overlooked is that the game isn't going F2P - it is merely a subscription based game that is adding a limited free to play option. F2P has no bearing on the subscription model except for the people who want it all and at minimal cost to them. These are the same people who tie up grocery store cash register lines arguing that they saw the oranges for $1.29/lb instead of the $1.42/lb the register rang up.

I'm simply one of those who has no desire to haggle over a few bucks a month if I already feel that I am getting my money's worth for what I'm already paying. I just wanna login and not have to worry about how quickly my WZ and FP food stamps are being used up. Personally, 50¢ a day for full and unlimited access to everything that isn't reserved for fluff purchases in the coin shop is well worth it.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

It's funny, thinking about inflation and video games. The very first video game I ever bought with my own money (i.e. birthday cash ) was Ultima II for the C64. As I recall, it was about $50 which would be something like $120 today. Video game prices have stayed pretty consistent over the years, despite inflation.

I would never complain if the game went to $10/month. But $15 seems fair to me, especially compared to how much everything else costs.

And those people are basically saying "go violate the child labor laws or you cheap lazy moron" and it's really kinda moronic. That they can't see past the "anyone that can't afford this is a lazy college drop out her der" is actually really sad.
During ski season when I was in high school and had no job, I would save the daily lunch money my parents gave me for the entire week. Then on Friday, my friends and I would ditch class and go skiing half day. Point being...where there's a will, there's a way.

It might be the same thing to you because you suggested a model where you paid less and got the same or relatively equal service in your eyes. The coins are an add on that costs them nothing. They don't 'lose' anything by offering them to you and only increase the likelihood you'll buy more coins because you have X and only a need a few more to buy that item you really want. It's a gateway model.

Now, put want aside for as second and think if it's a smart thing from a business perspective. By adopting your proposed model they just lost 33% of their revenue for no reason and aren't giving you an incentive to go into the cartel store. Where is the incentive for them to do this? Hope that they increase active subscriptions 33% to cover their unnecessary losses? Once you cut the price you can't go back ever. That would be the nuclear option.

Their inclusion of free coins for subscribers is a really good idea actually. As we've seen repeated over and over some people aren't willing to make that upfront monetary commitment to a game. F2P gets them in, whets the appetite and allows them to become emotionally involved in the game leading to a subscription or purchases.

Cartel coins are the same. With a zero balance you'd be less likely to pull out your wallet unless you really wanted something. With credit towards that item the justification is much easier. Anyone that's married might be able to relate to that. My wife will buy something and come home and be all excited because she thinks she got a deal on something that was originally $160 and was marked down to $90 (just an example happened last week). To her that's a savings of $70 because she was a smart shopper to me the item wasn't worth any money to begin with. It's marketing genius though.

I understand what you are saying I just don't understand if you realize what exactly you are proposing.

I just spent more on drinks on a 4 night Caribbean cruise than what it costs for 2 years of SWTOR.
Looking for a good woman. Able to clean, cook, sew, catch bait, and clean fish. Must have boat and motor.
((Please send picture of boat and motor))

Did you have to pay extra for those little umbrellas?
