I know what he was saying, and I do agree there's been a number of really silly decisions, but with the option of being able to earn cartel coins in-game without paying money, there's still the option to play without paying and still have access to the nice things subscribers have.

But... but... nobody wants to hire a level 21 squishy tank in greens to run end-game Ops, even if they have a maxed out Job Hunting, Resume Crafting, and Cybertech crew skills. They always pick the tanks that have full gear and have run the ops before, leaving the new tanks to fend for themselves.

EDIT: But by posting here you prove that you already do both. So logic fail.

Reminds me of that Simpson's episode go ahead and vote third party, throw your vote away. In this you can go F2P and throw your content access away.
Well to be honest I'm very lucky to be in the range of people for whom $5 isn't even pocket money... anymore.

That being said when I read thing like this:

I want to kick some butts because not only it's not always that easy for people to get a job, or pay the bills with the income they are able to get and for some they can't even work. And for some $5 is something.

Then I don't think for a game that (personal opinion) isn't better than LotRo, I should pay $5 more monthly ($60 yearly ) for roundly the same service. More precisely TOR isn't worth 50% more than LotRo.

Note: BTW I'm speaking LotRo founder status vs TOR pre-order/1st month subscribers.

lol, u speak the truth,
not only just in game but also in real life,
that's why tanks r so few,
and a good tank only run OPs with guild mates,
or prefer a no death run with PUGs,
if PUG let him die once, he quit.
English is not my first language, still working on it.

As you pointed out, this depends a lot on your gaming style and preferences. Based on your rationale, your assessment makes perfect sense. LOTRO certainly is, by a longshot, a better PvE game than SWTOR.

However, SWTOR is, by miles, the better PvP game. I play both games myself. I have no problem paying the sub for SWTOR mainly because I have the means and $15 is nothing. But when F2P comes, it may make more sense for someone like myself just to pay for the unlocks considering all I do is PvP in this game.

I have a Lifetime with LOTRO so I don't pay any sub at all over there. I just purchase the expansions when Turbine releases them and am good to go. Their latest xpac, Riders of Rohan, is pretty awesome btw.

Because apparently giving up 3 $5 Foot-longs at Subway is outside everybody's budget.

Either way I won't judge, these are some dark times.

No one will bring a level 21 to do any end game content.

If your a 50 tank, do randoms, they are many people just waiting for you to click that button so they can start the HM.
