SWG----------------- 8 years played, 7 active accounts at June 2011.
SWTOR------------- 3 months played, 1 month paid. No active accounts.

BW...Something is failing here, don't you think?

How is it that you can still post on forum if your subscription is not active?
Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic.

Me and the wife were talking about this subject yesterday over breakfast, yeah we're nerds. We started playing MMO's together about 11 years ago, Eq, EQ2, WoW, PWI and now SWTOR. This game does have a lot of bugs, more so that other games, but the kicker is every other game would implement an emergency patch to repair the worst offenders asap, not wait weeks. The GTN problem, SoE would have re-patched in less than 24 hours to resolve that issue, not wait a week or two. Just to mention one, and there are many. Hell HK-47 got all buggy last night and was stuck inside his core shooting us but we could not fight back, right after spawning two sets of assassination droids back to back. We had to run out of agro range and pull him out to continue the fight. Encounters like this should have been finished and working perfectly many months ago.

I go enjoy this game, been playing since beta and have 2 subs running since release. We will continue to play until something better comes along, just like every other game we played. But it is buggy and the company either spends it's resources on new content or just flat out doesn't have the man power to maintain the game properly anymore.

As for F2P, it will only ad an influx of haters, some issues need to be addressed first to make the game enjoyable for all.
The two most obvious are...
Heals for one, Cast times need to be reduced or healing effects need to be increased.

Juggs need some major love, taunt threat needs to be increased, especially AE taunts, Heavy Armor needs a major damage mitigation increase. Light armor needs to be just that, lets face it, there is NO difference between light armor and heavy armor, just class restrictions, this is easily the dumbest thing I have ever seen in any game.

Healing and tanking are disproportionately harder than dps, and unless they are made easier for the masses F2P wont help the cause at all. We will just have even longer ques...

If they are charging us 15 month we have all the right to complain.

2m of lost customers means something.
Your sig tells you played SWG for eight years!! It was a great game but quite buggy and with lack of content...i think your opinion is biased.

This current week, lvl 50 pvp on my server is actually not even possible. For the whole week, and it's still ongoing.

As if that wasn't bad enough, for the entire time I have returned to the game after a long hiatus (since April, and I've been back for a couple of weeks now) there has been another pvp issue, which affects all warzones (even the lower level ones, which are the only things you can even play on my server because of ANOTHER massive bug). That is, if people queue and don't actually join, they still take up room in the warzone group. Absolutely ridiculous and makes for an extremely unenjoyable experience. I happen to know for a fact that the imperials, being well aware of the issue, are using characters with multiple accounts to deliberately cause this problem to give their alts easy wins.

What has bioware done about any of these problems? Absolutely nothing - except, perhaps, shutdown threads like this one. I have news for you: shutting down threads does not fix your problems or make players unaware that they exist. We know alright, we can't even play this game because of them.

This is just some of the issues bothering me right now, but that doesn't even scratch the surface of the bugs present in this game.

Without a doubt, this is the worst implemented and maintained MMO in history. It has some good ideas, and I do like some things about the game or I wouldn't even be bothering to post, but dear god, the lack of urgency in fixing problems makes me reluctant to even consider touching a game developed by you people ever again. The only communication I receive is your lack of action - this makes me think bioware simply doesn't care - am I wrong? It's been almost a year and you have been only getting even slower at addressing problems.

Fix the game and stop trying to hide the state it's in.
1. so you have been playing online games in 1991? ok what games where online back then?
2. sorry if you say you've never played a game as buggy then you've never played
WoW, AoC, WAR, DDO, UO, EQ, EQ2, AO, Tabula Rasa, APB, SWG, RIFT, AION, basically EVERY MMO OUT THERE.

Can you even name some MMOs that have launched with less bugs? no ok then

Seriuosly I am getting sick of this Hyperbolle. You need to knock this stuff off.
edit: Why was PVP not avaliable for your server? What server do you play on? On my servers it was fine

All i have to say is Big Points Battlestar Galactica Online.

They can't do a patch without breaking something! Hell two patches ago they made it so bad most people couldn't even play the game without crashing every 2 minutes. Or this last patch they fix the crashing, now half the people fly invisible ships!

Also big huge fleet battles too many people turn on flak cannons, lag from the dark side of HELL. I literally go from about 20-30 fps to about 2.

Plus chat stops working anytime it feels like it, they have nerfed buffed ships out of control, put in god modes[which if you have the $$$ it's easy to get]. Trust me, considering that frakking mess, there are a few bugs here, but nothing like THAT!

You want to see a buggy laggy game, try that out then complain about SWTOR.

For me, actions speaks louder than words. When 2 million people left, you can't say ''well, good riddance'. Then your game has a problem. Sure, the game is good enough for you. But, clearly, most people have higher standards than you have. If Bioware does not respect their wishes, you will be playing pretty much on your own in a few months.

My guess is that most of you know by now that constructive or not, ANY criticism will get flamed by the minority rabid fan base in this community.

By the same token, no matter how mild any compliment will get flamed by the minority rabid hater base as well.

There is no way to avoid this, since quite a few seem to have different standards on what is moderate and what is not.

At any rate, it does seem like the devs focus is elsewhere, like they are trying to do 3 things at once. I have to say, the inclusion of moods and companion matching in 1.4 didnt make me anywhere near as happy as the removal of the jittery gameplay bug just recently. And most of the changes to the classes in 1.4 made me less enthusiastic for the title, especially the bugs and changed sounds/graphics effects.

I don't know if anyone else feels the same way, but it seems to me bug fixes that improve the gameplay experience are well received and should take top priority.

Where do you get your numbers? 2 million people havent even played this game. According to all the numbers ive seen they have lost about 1 million subs or so. Which is a large number yes but when you consider a lot of them wanted SWG2 instead of KOTOR3 its not all that surprising. This game still has more players than supposedly popular games like LOTRO and DDO from Turbine. I wouldnt worry after Nov people will be tempted to come back and see improvements.

In 1991 I was dialing up to play Tradewars: 2002, and Global War on my super sexy 2400 baud modem.

1) Neverwinter Nights.
2) I've played most of those games. It seems you, however, haven't
3) LOTRO......but this isn't launch. Bugs at launch is one thing, bugs 10 months later (some still the same) is another.

Before calling something hyperbole, you should probably know what you are talking about first.
