Why people are so crazy with GTN prices ?

I just started a cyber tech a few days ago. In that time I've sold a lot of skill armorings and mods. The purple
Mats costed me about 30k for ten or 3k a piece. That on top of maybe another 1k for the greens mean that it cost me maybe 4k to craft a purple
Skill mod/armoring 2 or 4. I would sell for about 7500. That means I make 3.5k profit a piece. In an hour I made 40k off of those while another person was selling a purple skill armoring for about 25k. Last I checked that hasn't sold.

I'll sell for a decent profit but not outrageously. It's serves me well. I like having 70k on a level 17 toon without doing dailies. Makes me feel great and since my mods and armorings always sell it tells me that it makes the buyers happy too.

Good point.I do my own farming.I saw 10 polyplast for 21k.It gave me a good chuckle. It took me 3 mins to get my first 10.I farm most of my mats.If I see a reasonable priced mats I will pick them up just because who ever put them up needs to be encouraged.I will not buy some of these overpriced mats.If people want to price mats so high that is their right. It is mine to say no.First cup of coffee.

A couple of signs that a crafting system is broken:

- raw materials sell for more than the materials they produce
- high level items sell for less than low level ones

It does seem like a lot, but it's really not so bad. Just take a couple of gathering professions and put materials you find up on the GTN. I bet you have no problems making 100k by lvl 20.

But alot of people just play the game and not the resource\crafting\GTN roulette part of it. I had about 10 guildmates that didnt craft or get resources they just wanted to PVE and story part of the game.

Well even more of a reason to just do gathering professions. You don't have to deal with any of the hassle of recipes, missions, reverse engineering, or anything else. Just grab the plant while questing. Next time you're on fleet find out what it's selling for, and put up your stack.

Couldn't agree more.

I just gather Durasteel and Zal, you can make some good money on these. I send my companions out to gather these as well. Dura prices seem to go up then drop right down, Zal alloy seems to hold its price.

Click, Gather, Sell.. Easy

I believe the problem is actually the perception that prices are too high. If you equate 1 credit for what it is ( around 10 copper in WoW) then 1000 credits equate to 1 gold. If I were to sell you 20 mithril for 20 gold in that game you probably think that you got a good deal. It's just 20,000 credits sounds a lot.
