So, it'll be another week or so of significantly less enjoyable play time, should I choose to loging to SWTOR.
Most MMO games don't feel responsive enough even when they run smooth, and if they stutter on top of that, things are bad.

I have no performance issues on other games, tried out a rather fluid MMO beta just yesterday actually, and it doesn't have a massive difference whether I run this game on highest or lowest, so... blehh. Wouldn't have felt the urge to add my tears to the pool, if some people didn't insist the problem to be mine rather than anything at all with the game.
Agreed. We are telling the emperor about the state of his new suit but, alas ... it's still our problem.

Keep defending something that is far beyond acceptable. Nothing in an MMO is easy to run and adjust, that doesn't justify releasing a patch that introduced far more bugs than content.

Some players in the thread have mentioned performance issues (which we are still working on as a high priority). You may need to lower your game settings, particularly by disabling shadows, until we are able to resolve the problem.

Thanks to everyone who reported issues they encountered, and for your patience as we continue to fix the others!
Thank you so much, Allison.

I'm glad to know you guys are aware of the continuing issues and very happy that you've resolved so many of them already. Now if you can just get this freeze and drop issue (happens mostly when I am in loading screens) fixed all will be right with the galaxy.

Thanks again for the update.

The fact they have said this is top priority why it doesn't fix the issue immediately they are working as quickly as possible.
Who said anything about a full rollback. That would be stupid.
What I was suggesting is removing only the parts of the patch that has caused the issue in the first place. Which is the stuff that dealt with the graphics. All the other content they released is fine.

The stuff dealing with the graphics should have never been released in the first place. It was complained about in the PTS, that is was causing issues. It is like they do not listen to people. I saw a thread here somewhere where a person said that when he was on the phone with them they said that they were not fully aware of the issues. Not sure if that is true or not but it does make you think if they listen to us at all.

Removing it until they have a fix for it is better than leaving for weeks on end until they do fix it, if they even can.
I know I would rather have the performance I had before the 1.4 patch than I do now.

-------------------------------------------------------------

You know the performance is not just affecting me when I use both cards it is affecting me when I use my single card as well. I still get graphical issues and I get lower FPS on my single GPU now than I did before the 1.4 patch. This even with there suggestions of turning things down or off and switching display modes from full screen to window mode. It is a bit depressing really.
Can I play the game with these issues? Yes
Do I want to play the game with these issues? No
I guess you can say that having the game working fine before the 1.4 patch spoiled me a bit. You could say the they stole my Eye-Candy.

What gets me the most is that they go ahead and add something that was complained about in the PTS and now the game is broken. They knew there was issues and yet the released it anyways. Unless they do not listen to anything that PTS testers say. In which case why have a PTS in the first place.

If people think that the complaining we do now is bad. Just think what it will be like on the 16th if they still have not addressed it. And even more so as the weeks go by.

In any case, we are out of luck for the rest of this week. We have to wait another week to see if they even looked into it.

call them. I did. They'll let you pause your sub as well until things are fixed.

This is my issue with all the workarounds and nonsense as well. Get your sheet together Bioware. This is a YP, not an MP- Your problem, not My problem.

Patch 1.3 started the performance lag, and it has done nothing but gotten worse, and its on their end to get the video cards to play nice with their servers.

Why is this the ONLY game in all the world that doesnt run smoothly on my computer? gee... I should probably uninstall all my drivers and stuff because clearly its a driver issue on my end... ffs.

That is probablynot so easy to do, but...

I totally agree with this. 100%. This should have been caught by their testing team and solved before it went to the test server. Apperently, it didn't. Okay, then plan B. Solved it on the test server before going to live. That didn't work either.

Now they are at plan C: try to fix it in live, while costomers are complaining. Needless to say, that's the worse of the worse solution.

I can only hope that they have learned some valuable lessons with 1.4.
- On one hand, I do not have the feeling that they did learn something, I did not see in any post somthing like ''we know our testing failed, sorry, we'll do better next time'.
- On the other hand, I can also not imagine that they are NOT aware of all the complaints on the forums the last two weeks: every other post is about it! It can't be fun for them to read all this, but surely they must be aware that they did something wrong. Hopefully, they will learn their lesson, even when they don't communicate about it.

For me, f2p is the main cause here, together wit their inexperience in MMOs. They put too many people on the f2p team. These bugs are the price that we, loyal subscribers, pay for the f2p decision.

Since the day 1.4 came out tons of people are left with a stuttering mess of a game while we continue to have to pay subscriptions with days of legitimately playing lost and they have nothing for us.

You assume too much and think that some of us are not willing to turn of shadows? You are so off base and clueless its astounding.

They had plenty of notice and information and STILL released the patch anyway.

Patience? This has been a bug riddled game for many for almost a year now. A paying customer, no matter how "complicated" a product is, is more than entitled to legitimate communication and help. When they receive neither for weeks, it is in no way fair to them to just "be patient" while their money is still being asked for.
Whoa there. 22 different drivers? How did you uninstall those?

I agree it "feels" that way. But, do you really expect them to do a public mia culpa? Don't get me wrong. I too am mad about 1.4 (see my sig) and even though symtomatically it looks like a process and CM problem (reintroduction of fixed bugs ( pointing to older code base used for patch 1.4) ) not to mention "laziness" in testing video card/driver issues ( no problems with the panda game for me for instance with latest NVidia drivers) do you really think they would admit it? What would they have to gain?

I also feel like their "priorities" are not inline with their "customers" priorites ( did YOU want shadows "enhanced" I know I sure didn't ). IMNSH, Given that they are going to the Freemium model they seem to not be valuing "payed" subscribers anymore.

I did just that. Removed em

It was a mixture of (Official Nvidia) drivers since February and even a couple of 3rd party drivers.

None of them at all fixed the issue.
