Yeah give us Arena for us who really loves pvp!
Would be awsome!

To make sure that Arena doesn't effect PvE at all they can just balance abilites in arena.
So that some abilities do more or less dmg or some abilies are not possible to use just in arena!

They have done this with bgs in SWTOR with the balanced HP and DMG thing and they have done this beautifuly!!

Cmon SWTOR you are on the right path!

What so many people do not understand, is some people like to get really good at things they like to do. there is no better way to do this than small pvp games.

i do not care if star wars does not include arenas, but it MUST have some way to perfect my class with competitive play. world pvp is not real pvp, like battlegorunds are not real pvp, anything that involves following a zerg does not count as skill based at all.

what is the point of defeating a computer opponent, programmed to do the same thing every time, using a strategy that you did not come up with. where is the skill in that. all that matters is having good gear. its boring and repetitive and i could watch TV while i do it, its that easy.

Go ahead and beat your end game bosses, and get your crazy gear, but i doubt you will be able to defeat me in a duel.

People who have the mental capacity to play their class extremely well, require some kind of outlet.

as an example: Pretend You are one of the worlds greatest guitarists in the world, but you can only ever play at your house using a CD to play along too. Never able to synergize with a band and create music to perform in front of people. that would suck right. Most people are fine playing and instrument and never play in a band or on stage. (Band meaning 5 members or under for synergy reasons.)
But some people NEED to take it to the next level and see how they stack up to the best.

All in all it makes me incredibly sad that SWTOR, this great game that i love so much may leave out some form of true competitive pvp. Which means i wont be able to get hooked on it, and theres no way ill be able to get my wow friends or brother to play it.

BTW there is proffesional gaming in wow, my brothers arena partner is sponsered and gets payed 10$ for every rated BG he plays, win or lose. its not alot but he makes like 400$ a week with it.

i'd hate to tell you that wow arena was not "skill" based for the majority of it's existence.

it was composition based. (yes there were exceptions, but those were extremely rare .05% of that portion of the pop)

when each season went from fotm class to fotm class comp's; skill went out the window. i know this firsthand i played a lock and made glad every season, i didn't even have to actively try to win for half of those seasons(see: sl/sl). the only "skill" that existed in arena was at the very very top talking 3k+. and even they played fotm classes most of the time.

If there already is plans for an arena or if it already exists, ignore this post.
I disagree!

For me Arena pvp that was introduced with wow is a bad joke. It does not require skill, it is unbalanced and also no fun.

I hope that they dont add wow pvp in SWTOR, it was the reason why I stopped doing pvp there - I prefer the objektive pvp, its just so much more fun and there every class or spec can play, something that doesnt work at Arena´s unfortunately.

The only arena that I would actually support is the 1v1 class based arena, but unfortunately too many people are afraid to play there, as this finally does require real skill and not just a setup like those 2v2, 4v4 etc.
