Remove PvP completely, and I guarantee you a lot of people will leave, myself included. A lot of people love competition and PvP provides it. PvE IS fun, but it can only go so far. PvE can never match the adaptability and the unpredictability of another player.

EVERY single major MMO I know of has some form of PvP. Its a vital factor to making the game fun.

Unless this is an elaborate troll post I'm afraid I don't understand your logic, because my skill tree gets refunded it must be pvpers' fault and so pvp should be removed entirely?

The nerf/buff cycle is a normal part of every mmo, get used to it. Refunded skill trees don't always mean a 'butchered' skill tree, if it weren't for the cycle merc would still be short an intterupt etc. Bioware seems to be pretty good in ensuring pve isn't affected by pvp changes (3ish% reduction to sin self heal, oh no!) so I don't see much of a problem here.

With lockouts on raids, people need something to do in between them, of which pvp is a key part. Not everyone is a hardcore pve'er

If you removed pvp from the game you would have about 100 people left. Please whatever you do in the future do not design MMO's.

I am surprised to see so much support for ending PvP.

This is my first mmo, and I have been doing casual PvP for the last couple of weeks. I am by no means good, nor am I a killing machine (I play a shield tech powertech), but I can say I am having fun. Once I reach 50, that is what I planned on doing a lot more of. Without it, there would really be little reason for ppl to stick with this game in between major content expansions. Lots of ppl will leave. Do you really want to play an mmo with only a handful of other players (i.e. impossible to do group content) just to save some time on respeccing?
PvE theorycrafting has really loosened their standards.

Not entirely true. EQ has a very tiny pvp community on a single server that is on life support. Classes don't get re-balanced very often at all there, probably due to pvp being marginalized.

I disagree, I enjoy being able to play a few rounds of pvp, switch gear and then do dailys and an op, all without switching toons/servers. It's half of the reason I play this game, the other half being pve and I don't feel like starting on a new server just because I log in one day after an update and there was no pvp queue button above my mini map. It's a part of the game, and if you don't like it, ignore it. I, however, enjoy the game the way it is,.. minus a few bugs.

If there was no PVP, I would be quitting this game. PVP is part of my leveling process.
