This is actually the real issue for a lot of modern MMO players, IMO. They need the game delivered to them in an IV drip, rather then take any responsibility for their own in game choices and experience.

Maybe that was it, I may not have been on long enough.

Dont get me wrong folks this is not a TOR HATE thread. Its a concern because we have multiple threads popping up where people arent seeing that they are on a origin server. No hate here I play the hell out of this game.

TL;DR: Negativity about this game is complete BS.
You're statements contradict themselves.

If someone forms their own opinion, and it's different then yours, you dismiss it as BS.

All the complaints would make you think otherwise though. People are level 1000 complainers on the forum or other sites about this game. Anytime they can take a shot at it, they do because it's the cool thing to do.

Why all the hate? SWTOR does a much better job presenting you with the mundane than the other games due to the cutscenes and voice acting. I guess if you are bored with the quests it's because you feel that spacebaring through the dialog is such a chore. Choose a different reply to a quest conversation next time when you have a choice, some of them are pretty entertaining.

The MMO aspects of this game are lacking? There is PVP, PVE (Ops, flashpoints, world bosses, etc) , you can choose to be social and interact with others. When the game came out people were raging that there was no group finder, well it's there now. So many of the complaints are such minor things it's incredible. What in the world did people ever do without group finder? /sarcasm

The biggest and most legitimate complaint (and the one issue that did the most damage to the game) would have been server populations but that is no longer an issue as it's been resolved. The people that had accounts on inactive server got emails to transfer, there is a ton of information out there. Gamers are responsible for keeping up with it.

The point is that if you want to compare this to WoW it's not fair. WoW has 7 years of post release active development and content. SWTOR is a new, interesting game with a ton of potential and it will only improve if gamers will give it a fair chance, which they won't.

There is a large portion of MMO gamers that for whatever reason want this game to fail. They go out of their way to make everything negative and completely !@#$ on this game at every opportunity in forums or word of mouth. Negativity spreads like herpes and it's just as bad. It's undeserved.

The point is that people complain just to complain. I'm convinced that the majority of gamers have no idea whatsoever what they want in a game. They are willing to try the latest thing play the heck out of it for a month or two, declare it sucks (hey that's the cool thing to do) and move on to the next one.

Did you even read the OP? Or are you on a general rant?

The OP is in reference to the PERCEPTION that the game is dead because returning players log in to origin servers not realizing they need to transfer off of them.

We already know this about you ( your post history is riddled with such and same).

Imma gonna back Imhotep here. He clearly stated it was about perception.

Now to add some credibility as to why. He and I don't always see eye to eye. So if we are in agreement then, that is prolly how it was intended.

Not just limited to MMO players ... there is a whole big wide world of potential Soma consumers.

I look at it this way Imhotep.....

Nobody can access a locked server unless they already have characters on it. So that means only returning veterans. So we can eliminate the new player base from the equation completely, which frankly would be the most vulnerable segment to misperception.

Now, if a returning veteran is not savvy enough to be informed of the main elements of the current state of the game, why did they come back and resub?? And any way you slice it, locked origin servers and character transfers is a main element of the current state of the game. It is VERY common knowledge that server transfers went live in early summer, so I find it hard to believe a veteran would not already know this AND be able to put 2 and 2 together and come up with 4.

Given all of the above, if the resubscriber in question is somehow unable to connect the dots (seeing an empty server, seeing alert notices pop-up on screen, tabbing back and checking server select and seeing live servers at the top of the list and lots of locked servers) and not at least go brush up on the state of the game..... well then we really did not lose anything significant in the gene pool contribution to the player base.

TL;DR: NO, I don't buy in to your premise of concern in the original post.
