Perception that the game is dead

The other day, not realizing Juyo was an origin server, I rolled a Sniper there (Im full up on slots on Harbinger). I load in, nothing about it being an origin server, no offer to transfer. I walk around for a minute and realize I am one of 3 people total on the server.

I realized ah this must be an origin server and looked at the list and sure enough. Now I read and post on the forums I was well aware of the transfers. I just had a brain fart when I picked Juyo. But for people who quit and are returning who either arent active on the forums or just havent been paying attention to the game I can see where this would be an issue.

It makes me wonder if people do this and then think screw it this game really is dead.

BW you guys need to make it plainly clear for people that these are origin servers. Lock character creation and get these forced transfers done.

In the mean time I looked at all the origin servers and deleted all of my toons off of them as I've been on The Harbinger since day 1 and dont see a need to roll anywhere else.

I play on two origin servers and about every 15 minutes I get a reminder that I can transfer across the middle of the screen. Really annoying when I'm in the middle of a space mission

I give it two years from its release that the severs will still be up. F2p will add a lot of people with it but they will see that the game has nothing to offer and EA just screwed them out of $20.00. F2p is money from the game sales people will do one or two miros. There is no way that they can save this game so they are just going to make as much as they can before they shut it down. All the lies, Vo killed the game. The end.

The game is not dead. /sigh

All the complaints would make you think otherwise though. People are level 1000 complainers on the forum or other sites about this game. Anytime they can take a shot at it, they do because it's the cool thing to do.

Why all the hate? SWTOR does a much better job presenting you with the mundane than the other games due to the cutscenes and voice acting. I guess if you are bored with the quests it's because you feel that spacebaring through the dialog is such a chore. Choose a different reply to a quest conversation next time when you have a choice, some of them are pretty entertaining.

The MMO aspects of this game are lacking? There is PVP, PVE (Ops, flashpoints, world bosses, etc) , you can choose to be social and interact with others. When the game came out people were raging that there was no group finder, well it's there now. So many of the complaints are such minor things it's incredible. What in the world did people ever do without group finder? /sarcasm

The biggest and most legitimate complaint (and the one issue that did the most damage to the game) would have been server populations but that is no longer an issue as it's been resolved. The people that had accounts on inactive server got emails to transfer, there is a ton of information out there. Gamers are responsible for keeping up with it.

The point is that if you want to compare this to WoW it's not fair. WoW has 7 years of post release active development and content. SWTOR is a new, interesting game with a ton of potential and it will only improve if gamers will give it a fair chance, which they won't.

There is a large portion of MMO gamers that for whatever reason want this game to fail. They go out of their way to make everything negative and completely !@#$ on this game at every opportunity in forums or word of mouth. Negativity spreads like herpes and it's just as bad. It's undeserved.

The point is that people complain just to complain. I'm convinced that the majority of gamers have no idea whatsoever what they want in a game. They are willing to try the latest thing play the heck out of it for a month or two, declare it sucks (hey that's the cool thing to do) and move on to the next one.

Form your own opinions from your own in game experience.

TL;DR: Negativity about this game is complete BS.

Why all the hate? Oh idk maybe it has to do with all promises that they made before the relase of the game like 700 hour of game play the dev talk about per toon or maybe all the bugs in the game that dont get fixed or maybe it has to do with that the content that they do have is worthless like crafting (biochem) is the only one worth having or maybe that everyone look exacly the same just to name a few.

These are roadblocks in your head. I am legacy level 50 on my server and I have yet to complete the agent, bh, or inquisitor storylines. I will do so in the future and I have spent an insane amount of time playing my characters. You can lead a horse to water but it's up to them to drink. There's a lot to do if you are motivated.

Customization needs to be improved see my thread here with a dev post: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=527437

Currently you don't have to look the same, but our options are limited and hopefully that will improve over time.

Bugs? Since they fixed the mission blocking issue I don't actually encounter any noticeable bugs in my daily play. Care to elaborate?

Speak for thyself, not for others.
