Quite frankly, deal with it.
wow, just wow. this community is going down hill fast. i hope f2p comes quick to drown out these old crabby star wars fan boys

edit - fair warning. if i ever pass out a class buff to someone and they start yelling at me for it. good luck getting another second of 'solo play'. i will make it my personal goal to follow you around and do everything in my power to 'steal your thunder', steal your nodes, and just ruin your experience all together. they'll ban me, I dont care. i have plenty of credits card, I'll start another account lol and be right there with you again buddy. deal with it

I have helped countless of people and no one has ever complained. Usually they have stayed and helped me when it's my turn to kill the mob. I won't stop helping just because there might be someone around who will freak out the moment they see some other player in the same zone interfering their playing and killing "their" mobs.

B . If you are a player that likes to help, then ask the player who is getting ready to fight the Elite Boss if he or she need help. This is the proper respect and you are not stealing the glory of the kill. Yes, I play imperial and Republic and knowing that I can solo a Elite Boss's is a great feeling.

2 . I have seen many time player just jump in and steal the thunder from other players , that like to Solo this game and see how the combat is... Not all Eite Boss's are alike in combat style they have differnt specials, that make it a challage. If you attack with same attack you will loose....you as a player have to change your attack and special attacks to confuse the AI's then you will win. The only way to beat a Elite Boss's is to watch and learn and loose a battle a time or two... to know how to win the battle.... The Art of War Sun Tzu

Be Respectful of other players and ask if they need help, But If you see player at 25% or less health, He or She is battling an Elite Boss then by all mean help him or her out, if you wish.....please do not steal there thunder/victory because I'm sure you will not like it if a player took yours.
So lemme get this str8.. you dont want players jumping in to help ya out without your permission but your more than happy to have someone keep throwing you heals as your getting your ***** handed to you... double standards there me thinks...

BTW I could of sworn that quest bosses are instanced so unless they are in ya grp they cant help ya... unless of course you mean world bosses or such out in the open area.. sorry but these are open play and available to anyone and everyone.. imps or reps alike. You might of got the first hit in and established aggro but they are still fair game... count yourself lucky you will still get the award at the end of it.... whenther others take it down with/for you or indeed decide to heal you. Of course opposite faction players may decide on a shift of power if you have gotten yourself flagged but thats another story entirely.

You can do that in this game, if the mobs are of your faction. You know that, right?

No, I didn't know that. So that's for humanoids only? I assume this would flag us pvp though.

You might as well start to prepare because the whole tagging thing really seems to be going away. Tera doesn't have it, GW2 doesn't have it, Elder scrolls won't have it, even Lotro is removing tagging for some mobs in the next expansion.. It really is the future.

You know what happens when there's no tagging so everyone hitting that mob gets credit and loot...

Enjoy it here while it lasts. I bet you get to kill even something alone now.

Never played Tera or GW 2. How exactly does it work?

Oddly, I'm not bothered by this whole thing at all in GW2. Probably because there is nothing other players can do, even if they tried, to interfere with my quests in that game. It's only in games like SWTOR where people have to "own" the mobs to get credit for them that other players become a problem and begin interfering with each other. Incidentally, I did unexpectedly end up soloing a "skill" mob in GW2 over the weekend because there were no other players around in that area.

So while the GW2 system wouldn't help so much for those who want to completely solo every mob for challenge, it is nice for those of us who are primarily irked about other players interfering with our quests. If we wished, we could pretend those other players don't exist as everyone goes about their own business.

I really wouldn't mind if the GW2 system came to SWTOR. I doubt it would though since it would require too much revamping of the entire game.

Guild Wars 2: if you're fighting a mob and someone else comes along and helps you kill it you can both loot said mob and you both gain experience and credit for the kill. Experience I believe actually goes up if you help someone kill a mob or if you get help from killing it - the loot is not "shared" but given out as if it were a solo kill (there's no Need/Greed roll, you don't pick up 100 silver and only end up with 10 etc.)

It's designed to make the world events, public quests and just general levelling smoother and easier. Since there's no tag-own mob system, there's no fighting over spawn points, no fighting over loot or any of that. I believe the whole point of it is to encourage a more friendly atmosphere between players and to make it easier and more rewarding to turn up and help other players.

Certainly, those who don't want help killing mobs in this game probably wouldn't enjoy the system GW2 is employing, as it actively rewards those who seek to help other players.
