Ty my bad,I jumped the gun, typically they put a date in italics next to the PDA, this one didn't so I assumed that the one i selected out was current as of today

I would guess the average hours played is somewhere between 1-2 hours which would put active players somewhere below with subs a bit higher?

36,000 * 24/1 = 864,000 active players
36,000 * 24/1.5 = 576,000 active players
36,000 * 24/2 = 432,000 active players
Thats not how concurrent users and estimating the subs of a game has worked in any other game. Its basically avarge concurrent users over a 2 week period X 10.

Which would be 360,000 for this game now. That again including the F2P to 15 players.
If this game is so great then why do so many people that love the game spend all their time in the forums?

The generally accepted number of active subbed players on at any given time for an mmo is 10%. This would equate to around .1*24=2.4 hours/day. That is why your 2 hour estimate is close to what others have been estimating for sub numbers.

Hey have we decided what the prize will be for the closest number?

Add in the number of people with subs who are not logging in 'cause they have quit and those with free trials I'll add in another 100,000. Then I'll add another 40,000 as padding for the fact that the concurrent login thread is only an average estimate.

So I am guessing around 500,000 subscriptions. But stable.
So do I win something or what, lol. Well apparently it is "well over" 500k and there is no actual number given but I was pretty close.

Can't be much more than 500k, I'd say based on statement it is around 540k. If it was 750 you would say "well over 750k" and if it was 610k you would say "over 600k".

Okay, I started playing in early access last December, payed for a 180 day sub ONCE during the initial free month and I still have 44 days left from the date of this post reply (5Sep12). Everyone talks about late August as the time when 6 month subs end and yet I still have a month and a half left. You have to start wondering if BW Austin got a degree in Enron accounting techniques--any arguments for late August timing are flawed by the BW "string-along" subscription model. So, start looking for the big drop off in October, not last August. Funny how this will dovetail right into F2P plans dontchathink?

And yes I checked my account to make sure I didn't auto-resub because after leveling two toons to 50 I simply could not stand the 'bore-me-to-death-and-just-kill-me-now dailies and MMO addict's gear grind post-50 Star Wars WoW game.'

Anyways, BW sold me on story, so I deleted all 8 toons and restarted them on another server and converted SWTOR into KOTOR 3 for the remainder of my sub, ie NO guilds, NO groups, NO PvP, NO heroic areas and NO desire to play beyond 50 this time around. Honestly, a new planet and/or level cap increase won't keep me around.

So, my guess is at the start of F2P, 250K subs if BW is lucky in the least.

Every so often this weird demographic shows up to the forum and rubs their hands together in hopes that the game they are paying for loses more subs.

It's very akin to why people really attend Nascar races.

You are most likely right. Great job on alienating their current subscribers while focusing their efforts to the f2p time.
They just can't catch a break.
