This game could learn from SWG

Sorry.. As I said.. When it shut down it had less than 100k subs.. There is probably nowhere near that from SWG playing this now.. Feel free to share us the source of your info.. I have already posted mine..

we are speaking about pre nge/cu swg. which had 600k subs after 6 months. much more later on.

anyway , i like to have 1 character not more because this is how i play. and currently swtor offers so little end game content that id rather be here on the forums than actually playing the game. this is how swtors real entertainment value is

this is why SWG felt more star warsy than this game

Speeder bikes were fast.
Multi-crew vehicles
Housing
Cantinas were social hotspots
In-depth character skill system
Best crafting and resource system except for maybe EVE
You could get ranks in the Empire/Rebels and recruit troopers to help you.
You could tame a RANCOR - or even better bioengineer one - and it also hit like one (not like the silly companions).
Being a jedi actually felt powerful and meant something.
Multi-crewable spaceships you could run around in while you were IN COMBAT.
Gambling
Spice
Bounties

I'd pay a lifetime sub of US $1000 if SWTOR control+c/v the most excellent features from SWG, no questions asked.
- or at least use them for inspiration when developing their own touch, I stil have "some" faith left in BioWare.

- 3D Space Sim (JTL)
- Crafting and Mat system
- Exploration and Open Planets
- Horizontal Professions / Classes
- Open World PvP (no expertise)
- Housing and Decoration (Ships, Buildings etc.)
- Advanced Player Customization
- Day / Night / Weather / Environment / Music-cycles
- Advanced RP tool-kit and basic RP features (chat bubbles, player created content)

Basically, more sand and more tools for us the consumers to play around with and within.
- Atmosphere and Immersion is highly lacking in this rigid choked-up theme park.

note: such features would open up for more fluff and vanity in many aspects and the F2P+Cash Shop would see way more activity imho.

This was discussed during the beta and we couldn't make it work to appease everyone.. Which is why it isn't in the game..

Some of the restrictions you mentioned would help against exploiting it.. But what about level restrictions? Is this cross faction only?? I trust this isn't just a bounty hunter activity..

What are the areas where a bounty can or can't be attack?? If this is to work cross faction, are both factions going to have access to both fleet stations?? Is there a time limit on bounties?? There are a lot of issues here.. We talked about his for at least a couple weeks.. A lot of people wanted it.. Including myself it could be made to work..

There are a lot of issues.. My point was that a lot people just love to spout out about wanting this or that and never actually think about what they are asking for and how it might work..
the way i see i, it's just a part of the PvP system you want to kill some one pay the coniqunces you opt out by not doing PvP

any open world area they should never of had the fleet in the first place everybody should be able to mingle with everyone else what faction you chose should of been a secondary thing, yeah its cross faction and i would say its a BH/Trooper class for imps its bountys for the republic is the SIS most wanted (if you wanted to do this type of PvP you would chose that class just like any other game you want that profession you chose it)

this is all just off the top of my head atm i could come back after a few days with most of the kinks worked out i think

And the Jump To Lightspeed expansion took what, 17 months to release after the launch of the game?

Let's see what we know by May 2013 about the SSSP.

At its height, SWG had around 300k subs (I think the highest ever posted may have been 350k) and considering it was a Pre-WoW MMO, this made it one of the largest MMOs around.

It also wasn't bleeding subs as much as every basher claims, it stayed steady for two years and SOE even claimed on the forums around Publish 24 (1 Publish before the NGE) that the games subs were on the rise. This was because they had actually became dedicated to fixing the game. The whole bleeding subs drastically thing came after the NGE when the games subs dropped to less than 100k. The same Devs who claimed the subs were rising during the CU reversed their stance so they could justify the NGE (which has now been debunked by many Ex-Devs)

Of course there are things TOR could learn from SWG, if SWG was still around then there would be things it could learn from TOR but to blindly say we should not touch a feature because it was in the other game is silly and just pathetic.

SWG was a game with many innovative and clever ideas that could have made it the top MMO but it suffered from bad management (from LucasArts and SOE) but that doesn't mean BioWare should shun those ideas, it means BioWare should take them and improve upon them.

200+million dollars, however long the game was developed (7+ years) with something that doesn't have swimming or day/night cycles. Case closed.

These kinds of comments really are doubleplus unimpressive.

You forgot the droids, weapons, armor, ships, combat, creatures, worlds, mission and story content... you missed a few.
