Interesting discussion. Ok, old time gamer here with an extensive resume. I won't add to the litany of "I played" walls of text as many of you no the drill.

I think this game has found it's primary audience now and is positioning itself to attract those who hop from game to game looking for shinies. As such, I think this game will be around for years to come. But, I do think the powers that be need to make a concerted effort to improve content drops and game improvements to keep the game viable.

I'm here for the foreseeable future as what has been delivered thus far meets my needs.

This game was a huge let down, I didn't buy another MMO so I could play WOW again. I really hope they change some aspects of this game to differentiate it but I doubt that's going to happen. So if it doesnt happen I hope this game dies and EA/BW learn from this disaster.

I didn't play WoW so that's not an issue for me. I don't understand why people think it's catastrophic that a developer releases a game with mechanics and features similar to another game.

Quite frankly, I have no problem with this game being alot like WoW. It made my transition to swtor easier, it's engine gives it a similar but different feel and it looks way better. well, to me at least.

I really like this game and hope it stays around for years!

Let's be blunt, since this was the very first game to openly step up to Blizzard, both Blizz and their fanboy manchildren made sure to attack this game from the first second. Note how many forum posts are done by annoying Blizza fans, going "haha, dis game will nevur b as gud as WoW." As I have said elsewhere, I would love to think Blizzard paid these fools, but no, they are in their mother's basement, waiting to pay another 40 bucks plus the 15 a month plus whatever they pay their Chinese gold farmers to play a Kung Fu Panda.

Mcdonalds may make the MOST burgers, it does not mean they are the best, nor does it mean the company is healthy. If you think investors do not see that WoW lost a million people, and that they were saved by Diablo III, I got some swamp to sell you. Yeah, they are big, but investors only care about short term here and now profit. And if Panderia goes down in flames, like I am hoping it does, than Blizzard will reap what it has sown. Let's not even get into the fact that they still cannot let any info out on project titan.

Did BW screw some things up, yes..heck, they shopuld have simply did what blizzard did, stoeln features from other mmos, put a coat of paint on, and added it. They also could have learned how to build a COMMUNITY. However, does it deserve the sheer hate it gets, no...especially when us Coh veterans remember Jack Emmert.

I think this game can last, but frankly, EA has to stop listening to people that say it needs to be the next wow to be a cash cow. Frankly, WoW's model is DYING, and to be honest, good riddance. They also should realzie that this game is the next step in gaming, where you have actual stories...EA needs to get out of bw's way.

I wish EA was committed. Really I do. Unfortunately I don't think they are. I don't think they have any idea what they are doing with this game and I think they are slowly and painfully ruining it's massive potential.

I just wish all the haters would just go away and let us enjoy the game while giving our ideas instead of whining that our ideas don't get heard. The team cannot use every players idea.

I'm sorry for the next bit, but I have to get this off my chest.

It just pains me that it seems like this game had a target painted on it's back from the moment it hit the shelves. From players to gaming journalist sites, it seems like so much, too much, is against this game.

It's getting depressing and disheartening hearing the defining cackles of those who are just waiting for things to get really bad, and screeching with glee at even the smallest of mistakes. I'm not talking about normal MMO gripes, I'm talking a concerted effort, a never ending wave of un-needed doom and gloom.

TOR is getting stomped on, over and over again. It's not getting a fair shake, if it ever got one to begin with. It makes me ashamed to call myself a Gamer, or MMO player, seeing how this game is being so unduly reviled.

I wish TOR could be left alone, alone to the people who appreciate it, and who enjoy it....who play it.
My thoughts exactly. It's nice to finally seem some people who don't completely hate this game.... and yet still play it.
