I guarantee you EA/Bioware will stick with this game for a year(s) to come....

...the player base won't however.

For us hardcore PvE'rs its not alot of content, and the guilds that have completed HM EC are scratching their heads.
M8 that will allways happen in any MMO, it happened in WoW since release, so whats the big difference here. FP's werent and arent made to pose a difficult challenge m8, FP's are made as a stepping stone of gear into the end content wich is what really matters.
Hardcore guilds scrachting their heads figuring out what to clear next, well it allways been like this, in WoW was 5 times worse so...
Terror from the Deep is right around the corner m8y, hold your horses.

It just camed out some explanation about it

I'm sorry for the next bit, but I have to get this off my chest.

It just pains me that it seems like this game had a target painted on it's back from the moment it hit the shelves. From players to gaming journalist sites, it seems like so much, too much, is against this game.

It's getting depressing and disheartening hearing the defining cackles of those who are just waiting for things to get really bad, and screeching with glee at even the smallest of mistakes. I'm not talking about normal MMO gripes, I'm talking a concerted effort, a never ending wave of un-needed doom and gloom.

TOR is getting stomped on, over and over again. It's not getting a fair shake, if it ever got one to begin with. It makes me ashamed to call myself a Gamer, or MMO player, seeing how this game is being so unduly reviled.

I wish TOR could be left alone, alone to the people who appreciate it, and who enjoy it....who play it.
Let me explain a few things.

When people make an MMO, its for a large audience. So when swtor has only a few people that liked it, its as if BW lied to EA investors saying this is a game that MMO players would like. Its meant to draw in a crowd of pvp players and pve players. They missed the mark on pvp players. So when only a few people like swtor... its a problem. Its not someones personal project in their garage, that they put together in their spare time as a hobby.

Its a good game.

But the MMO part is lacking as well. If it wasn't an MMO with millions of dollars of investment, or a SW game that sets certain expectations coming from SWG as well, or even Kotor expectations of mini games, then... the expectations would certainly be different.

The reaction is all based on expectations and on the set standards established by other devs in MMOs and games in general. ( expectation of NPC movement, open world pvp, mini games, pazaak etc)

To a lot, swtor in design missed some great opportunities which is bad design overall and bad investment of too much story, and bad engine capabilities... that for such a largely hyped game, SW I.P., and a large budget people were expecting great things, and its not as great. So, that is why. Its as if they only called it a AAA MMO to over hype the game to cover their cost with $15 a month, but focused too much on lvling, and not enough on pvp. ANd people dont generally pay $15 a month for single player leveling experiences, so that is why it would feel over hyped as an MMO to 'justify' that $15 a month.

I'm no arm chair developer but I can definetly see them sticking with this game for years to come. It would be a financial disaster if they just threw in the towel and gave up. The game has sooooo much potential to grow and I have faith that it will

I also played SWG on release, still have the box at home and for me it really sucked, so whats your point really? If this game sucks so bad to you go play something you like and stop trolling forums.

And since when did BW stated anywhere that this game was PvP based??? Actually they did said exactly the opposite, it was PvE based with a strong PvP component, you pvpers (me included, play pvp the entire day until ops time hits) assumed from the start that this would be a PvP centered game.
PvP its lacking some stuff but its far from being bad, i have tons of fun with it.
Btw, stop assuming that PvPers is a huge chunk from a community, cause it isnt. Its like our SWTOR hardcore guilds that say that they lack content and people will start leaving the game cause of lack of Ops. Man hardcore players represent 5% of a community, i agree its us, hardcores, that drive a games development forward and somehow advertise the game itself but were a lesser minority here. The same goes to PvP'ers, stop pretending you guys are the majority cause plain and simple you arent. PvP'ers in this type of PvE centered games represent 15-20% of the community tops, stop assuming otherwise.
Casual players and PvE'ers represent the rest.

Amen.
The funny thing is, why complaining about it?? They dnt like the game, get out, its just easy as that, honestly i dnt get it. Somehow this type of players just have fun badmouthing something for the sake of it, cause its in the best interest of their chosen game to just come to other people game forums and critisize about something.
If SWTOR is such a waste of time, go away and good riddance, leave us noobs and SWTOR fanboys, as you call us, alone.
We're happy here and we arent leaving soon.
Im just hoping that F2P comes soon, so players without subs dnt post on BW forums.
