My personal bet is that its guild capital ships, as we know that had made it on their wall of crazy. I don't think we've gotten any indication that they're looking at 3d space combat. I'd be very happy to be wrong about this since I love 3d space combat, but my guess is guild capital ships.

That's very plausible. As much as I too would like 3D space combat (open space/off rails/whatever), I think people are hoping for a little too much at this point. I find it's always best to keep expectations low when it comes to Bioware.

Everytime i see this stuff i have to speak up.

I would love for free flying space, BUT NOTHING LIKE THAT HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED.

I think, when it comes to this "secret space project", which sounds ridiculous in itself. We need to not ASSUME that this is something that may very well NOT BE.

I mean who is really working on this?

Last thing i heard; chat bubbles were a massive undertaking, one in which the technology to produce such an ellaborate system has eluded biowares in house geek squad completly.

I also would like to see a massive space over haul and free flight, but just dont get excited about a feature you may never see implemented. This "super seceret space project" could very well be co-op flight missions or some warzone syle space content that is still on rails and you have to get ship armor with expertise for pvp.

It is a "whole new pixel space".
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

They have competitors in the space portion of the MMO genre, including the upcoming Project Titan from Blizzard/Activision, EVE, STO, and even Entropia.

I am not at all confused as to why they are holding this close to home until they are significantly along in the process and are confident they can beat anyone else to the punch if the others should decide to go into copy and clone mode.

It's just a smart business practice.

It's the same basic reason why car companies put false ground effects and strips of black or white panels on new car models so that if someone spots one out driving around, they can't tell what the actual styling of the car looks like, since there are companies out there like Kia and Hyundai and others who will immediately start trying to replicate the model's appearance for their own cars.

I still find it funny you want news on something super secret. Doesn't that make the secret news not so secret?

Do you ask the government for classified info too? When it becomes declassified you can see it.
That's why they call it space, cause there is so much of it.

If* it's guild ships on rail or something similar I'll be hugely dissapointed- "everyone" on the forums are basically haviing 3D FREE ROAM SPACE SIM as one of their most-wanted features in a myriad of discussions/threads - BioWare even polled it and 3D won by a long shot over guild ships / capital shis if my mind dont decieve me..

See this is part of the problem in the forums. People go way overboard hyping stuff and creating "promises" out of thin air. Bioware has not given any indication, as far as I am aware, that they're even looking at 3d space combat as a possibility. Unlike guild capital ships which we know made it to the wall of crazy. However, the second a secret space project is mentioned, everyone creates their own vision of what it will be, and will be massively upset when it turns out its not thing X. 3 words "Secret Space project" become "sandbox space sim" "3d JTL space combat" and myriad other things to people, who are speculating wildly to the point where they will be invariably disappointed by whatever is released. My speculation is speculation as well, but I acknowledge that and in no way expect Bioware to meet my own personal guesses, nor will I be disappointed if they don't.

I would say based on the response from current customers on the forums in addition to potentially poaching EVE players that they better well consider it. I believe that if there is one patch or expansion that can "save" this game from the negative press storm it's received that is it.

Former SWG creator and director Raph Koster lists not launching Jump to Lightspeed with SWG's release as one of the 5 biggest failures they made in that game. I'm shocked Bioware made this same mistake given the amount of money poured into this project pre-release.
