Content or Not Content?

I have to agree with the OP. I unsubbed solely for this upcoming "content" . Altough I dont dislike Fp's or Ops or Wz's it cant be the sole carrot on a stick to keep pple playing.
basically im not looking to grind more tiers of gear by doing dailies and repetitive FP's just to gather better gear.
If this by all means is content for the most then be my guest & have fun with it.
I gave BW a sign by unsubbing & giving them my two cents about why i unsubbed.
Ofcourse there are a lot of players who like this type of playstyle, i was like this aswell at one point, but with mmo's coming out the wazoo every year its not just worth the time to stick solely with 1 mmo to grind the hell out of it for some pixels. I rather move on to a new one then and play that for a year until they repetitive endgame content comes.
I wish some mmo had the courage to step away from this concept (i know there are some, but not AAA ones) and bring something really refreshing.
To me swtor brought the story & dialogues as refreshing part. all the rest was rechewed standard mmo gameplay like we had for over a decade now.

Class stories are the best and the worst of swtor. The best because while i was doing my classquest i loved this game, when i finished my classquest it felt a bit like i finished the game. I know we can do alts to see the other stories, and yes i´ve done that. But honestly, leveling alts isn´t endgame.

Making new classquest compared to events that all classes can do is just realy expensive. Ex. a jedi knight classquest people can do only 1 time pr. jedi knight they have. And most people probably only have 1. An event people can do 1 time pr day on all their chars for as long as the event last.

Still i´d like general garza to give troopers a new quest every day. Make 5 or so daily quests for each class and give players 1 random of the 5 pr. day. Same with companon quests. Give all companons a daily quest and let players get one random companonquest each day.

So i would love for all classes to have more story, but story that you can only do once is very expensive if you think in terms of cost pr. minut played. So i realy have low expectations for more class story untill next expansion. Maybe some faction questline like the crystal ball quest.

I don't know if I consider Op's to be content. Since there is almost no chance I'll ever get to play them because they require 8 people on a server that max's fleet at 30.

It's all content. Short of bug fixes, or tweaks to existing items or abilities, it all counts in my book.

That said, it isn't all content that I care about (I loathe vanity pets in general, with very few exceptions) but that doesn't mean someone isn't happy to see it. I am a roleplayer, but I don't use chat bubbles. I would use sittable chairs. I don't care if new ops are added right now because I am not of a level to play them yet.

With all of that in mind, I do very much want more story. That is something this game does differently from almost any other, and does it very well. I know it is time-intensive to write and expensive to produce. But there really is nothing else that could be added which would enrich my game experience more.

I hope enough others who feel the same way will say so, and continue to say so, so that the Development Team and those steering the course of the game know it's wanted. Honestly, I can do end-game gear grinds and PvP in other games. It's not why I am here. I'm here for Star Wars, and the adventure of exploring stories of that Galaxy Far, Far Away.

Anything that has been designed by a developer and takes time to play through is content. Its very simple.

The problem people have is lack of relevant content, especially at endgame.

This game has loads of decent content. The story is great, there are tons of good flashpoints, 3 fully formed and enjoyable raids, 4 decent enough warzones for pvp.

The problem is, on the PvE side, that vertical gear progression makes most content obsolete i.e. not relevant. For example, I'm pretty much full campaign / blackhole geared on my main. That means the only relevant content for me in pve is Explosive Content. In my guild, we've now got hardmode down to 1h30mins for full clear. That means for me, for pve, I have 1h30mins of relevant content to complete per week. That sucks.

Now, sure, I can go off and do flashpoints and lower raids etc, but doing so has no benefit to my character at all beyond my own sense of fun, which after repeating all flashpoints and ops 100s of times is minimal.

There is no right and wrong answer here.. an MMO (and I use that term loosely in SWTOR) is made up of all kinds of players, playstyles, wants and desires. Therefore for the game to continue hooking the playerbase it need to something that binds them all.. yes in SWTOR there is good story, but that may not appeal to all and it also gets to a point where it runs out of story.. so to keep the players in game longer it implements other things to surround the core story.. companions, companion story/quests, PvP, gearing tiers ground by way of Op's and Daily's. There are World Bosses (a mini game in itself).. all of these facets of the game are content which either are your flavor or not.

So in essence everything can be considered to be content depending on what takes your flavor.. the issue with SWTOR for me is that none of it is very forthcoming, has been poorly implemented or has been pulled due to performance issues leaving the players to fester in content that has a low repeatability value and no more core story to progress.. grinding might be fun for a few days/weeks and playing out the same Wz's over and might hold you for a whiles but unless the game keeps adding things .. no matter what area as long as it somewhere along the line all areas are covered, this game will simply dry up and feel old all too soon... and I think we have all seen that happen already.
