Why is there a CD on quicktravel?

Lol! Well, the current CD seems about right to me. Going to turn in quests immediately in a pve scenario doesn't make sense as there are many quests in a given area. So... you run a few quests, QT, turned them in and by the time you run through the process all over again the cool down is complete.

I really don't use QT for much else so... not a huge deal in my book..

Aye. This is the way I use QT. Perhaps I was mistaken, I thought we were talking about QT between planets.

It rarely bothers me, especially if you legacied (well, it IS a word now) it down to 24 min's.
Jolee: I did it all for the Wookiees.
Revan: The Wookiees?
Jolee: The Wookiees!

This is how I use it. And I think that's the intention with the CD. I'm even lazy sometimes and QT to the cantina before I log off, even if it's 1 min walk.

I'm to lazy in life to be mmo lazy.
That's why they call it space, cause there is so much of it.

No to this and the idea someone else posted about making QT have a cost to it...

I think the 30 minutes is OK as a starting CD. But I do think that the legacy "upgrades" for it are absolutely stupid. 6 minutes?! I'd buy it without hesitation if they brought the time down to 20 minutes, though 15 would be even better. I refuse to pay for a 6 minute CD reduction, out of principle.

At least the CD reduction on fleet pass cuts it by a third. Though I still won't get it because even at 12 hours it's still pretty much a "once a day". I don't think I've ever found myself in a situation where I used my fleet pass more than 12 hours ago, but less than 18, and found myself inconvenienced because of it.

It's stupid. In Guild Wars 2 you get to pay a fee to transport to any of the waypoints you unlocked and there's no interruption to enjoying the game's content. So refreshing compared to the tedious travel of going down the same boring paths in ToR.

While some CD on quick travel is a necessity the quote is a horrid idea. There are too many nooks and crannys you have to get into where you have to fight your way in and then with respawns fight your way back out again. That gets old rapidly. Quick travel at least alleviates some of that.

/facepalm

Travel is part of what makes an MMO an MMO. GW2 is no MMO. Maybe SWTOR isn't your type of game. I personally think it's an asset that different games are......................you know, different.

I agree with this. I'm always grateful for going into a instanced quest because I know I won't have to fight my way back out. It is really annoying. You've done the deed, and yet you have to survive getting out. QT does solve that problem, you do the whole set of quests and then QT back to base.
