last night, i join a guild group on my sniper and wipe the whole night on toth and zorn HM. We basically reach the enrage timer (well most wipe were due to fearfull or peak from the ground, but when we did reach the end of the fight, enrage it was).

I'm pretty sure, i was doing a good dps, in fact, i upload my log later that night to check, i was well above the necessary dps (above 1k dps when toth and zorn HM need about 800-900 dps average per dps). Which means some "guild member" were probably below 800, below 700 most likely.

However, being the pick up, doubt about lack of dps naturally came upon me, and i had no way to defend myself. I wish there and then, there were an ingame global meter, so that players are not harrassed arbitrary, even if they are pulling their weight.

People think damage meter allows players harrass other player that are not performing adequately, but i feel the absence of damage meter allow for harrass as well, just a different type of harrass. Player are not judge on their actual performance, but on what they are wearing (a full rakata is necessarely better than a full columi right), wether or not they are in a guild. Stranger always get the short end of the stick.

It's the tyranny of the casual...

My raid group uses Mox for most operations, and it's mandatory for EC HM 8/16. I can give you an example of how Mox helped us clear Stormcaller/Firebrand on 16 HM. In order to get the second double destruction faster so that the blue aoe bubble doesn't drop on our stormcaller side, our marauder on firebrand pops bloodthurst to crank out the extra dps. It wasn't working.

We noticed bloodthurst was hitting our powertech who was taunting during this phase, losing valuable dps. We went into mox, selected our highest dps on the firebrand side, and put him in the marauder's group. We cleared it after wiping at the same point multiple times.

Our guild's philosophy is Mox is a tool to help people get better and assist raid decisions, not to single out people.

swtorcombatlogs.com ftw. gives you a nice overlay that allows you to view live dps/hps/threat while in fights. Lets every raid leader know who to yell at:P

This game has alot of elitists and wannabee elitists, lets not give them another tool to create a more unfriendly environment.

In my experience only the baddies are opposed to damage meters since it would expose them as lesser players.

Everyone else realizes that damage meters are just a tool that can both help/hinder, but how else is someone supposed to measure improvement if there is never any sort of baseline or tool to measure performance?

Ah, my favourite "I'm right and everyone that disagrees is bad" argument appeared!

You do realize you can ask other people for their logs? Or ask them to use one of those parsers that merge multiple logs togerter to give raid overview?

Any parser BW would create would be judged against all existing ones, and found lacking because you can't satisfy everyone. So while it's working fine, why bother and just cause more tears to flow?

as much as we "can" ask them to do that its not really something worth doing inless your already having problems just to get someone to install SWmonitor and set it up and get it runing is most of the time a 10 min thing

if we are inviting a lot of pugs because its a regression op thats fine we could be waiting 20-30 min to get 3-4 people but if your doing 1 person like we do most of the time (if we do any at all) its not good to have to make a op wait for 10 min on a pug to install something he may not even be willing to install we still have people that will not get in vent for lets see what have i been told now

"i am deaf"
"I dont have a mike"
"I am mute"
"i dont have it installed"

most of those came from tanks or healers with it already being this hard to get a Voice chat program to be used if we REQ a program to monitor there dps how many people do you really think we will be able to get
