Yes LOTRO orginally had a subscription model, exactly as SWTOR does, and did for 3 years and 2 expansions.

After the F2P you kept access to the old content whether you had the VIP (sub) option or F2P option, although F2P did have other limitations such as charater slots/bank space/gold amounts etc.

Where as SWTOR is basically limiting (or removing) your access to content you already have full access too (and have effectively paid for IMO) if you go F2P, unless you unlock it again in the cashshop - i.e. pay for it twice!

All content was, not every aspect of the game, which is what I'm talking about.

The same thing applies to the current content in my mind though.

IF they were actually saying that a subscription gave you access to everything under the F2P model (as they orginally stated) then they'd actually have some justification for making you pay twice.

But given that they are likely to sell Makeb to subscribers, they simply don't have a leg to stand on, it is purely selling the same stuff twice because they think they can get away with it.

Makeb isn't current content though. Makeb wasn't sold with the box, nor promised with it, so you have no right to demand access to it as "F2P', which is what I feel you're arguing for.

They MAY be able to sell it to some subscribers, I hope they don't and I feel it would be a terrible mistake if they did...this game is losing players (4 of 5 or more) because of how little there is to do, not a sub fee.

All you are doing is making yourself upset about it. It's not like anything you post here is going to drive Bioware in a differerent direction. Nor are you influencing many people to follow your imagination on the issue. So I don't see what this achieves for you.

Is W0W selling their Panda pack or is that included in the monthly fee?

If I have access to it as a subscriber, all the better! If I need to pay for an expansion, I assume I'll be allowed to buy it with 'Cartel Coins', which, as a subscriber, I would hope that would offset my cost enough that I feel like I'm being rewarded for my loyalty of paying a monthly fee.

The reality is, they won't be able to sell ONE warzone. I won't buy it and I think I'm a fairly 'normal' consumer. If they release a WZ pack with like 5, sure...I can see paying a small fee for those. Ask CoD how poorly selling small map packs works out. When only 50% of the players buy it, the new maps go unused, and the people who purchased the new maps are stuck in the old map rotation still...as more and more map packs release, the population and value of those maps falls sharply.

That Pandapack is a full expansion. Not just a new zone or a new WZ Its something the developer team has worked on for a year or so.

I just want to make it a part of the forum record here that TUXs and I mutally agree on two different posts in this thread this morning.
