That's fine and respected, but when you throw uninformed posts like below, your self entitlement ruins your delivery.

Sometimes you have to open your shell and share your nuts with everyone.

Amongst other things I'm sure...
Oh I completely get that people like different things, what baffles me is that someone would buy a game that is clearly marked as a story-based mmo and then complain when they run into story elements of it. I also don't get when people buy a story-based mmo and then complain that certain content requires grouping. Just illogical.

At any rate, I believe the original point somewhere back in there was not everyone is here for story. That's fine, fabjulous. Not a problem. I am. Along with group pve content. That doesn't mean people who like other stuff shouldn't get nice things too.
aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?

If they add a bulk of story into the game with a patch that isnt designated for raids that will bring more people back then a raid would, probably sounds alien but this is at the end of the day bioware, and bioware make story like no others.

GW2 is trading on the strength of dynamic events and level dropping but really when you think about it, people sometimes just wanna face stomp old areas for things like mats and helping others when someone you know low level cant find anyone for an heroic mission, in gw2 you wont have any of that and even top levels dropping back to help out will end up being the same level as the person there helping thus your still going to need others and at 3 in the morning runs that aint going to happen.

Then you have the dynamic events, ye they are cool but they are landlocked, how many times are yoiu gonna enjoy putting fires out and chasing the same npcs up and down the map. Ive not heard alot about gw2's endgame but the game does trade on pvp and open world pvp, so how many warzones does gw2 have because wow survived years on just 3 warzones and swtor gets its head caved in for having 4 and one gametype never seen before in an mmo.

And im not attacking GW2, im just being a realist, nothing can live upto the hype that gw2 is getting and swtor recieved prior to launch.
If i thought the PvP here was "good", I would probably stay and keep a sub. But in my opinion it is so average, its really not even fun, its just PvPing, if that makes any sense?

Guard the nodes or door, capture the hutball. get a new piece of gear.

yay.

Is GW2 going to be the bee's knees?

dunno.

But i'm certainly willing to give it a shot. WvWvW appeals to me greatly.

Some people prefer objective based PvP over zerg based PvP. /shrug

It's not for everyone.

I don't think you understood what I said about GW2. I just meant that GW2 is going to make a huge dent in the game. It may be overhyped, that's for sure, but it's clearly a bigger threat than Diablo 3 and it's mainly going to affect SWTOR's PvPers even more.

That's going to ruin this game for me even further because I'm apart of the PvP niche. I did hear, though, in terms of (O)PvP, GW2 has it in the bag.

I get what you're saying about GW2, though. It'll possibly be just as overhyped as this game, but in terms of PvP this game pales in comparison with that game's PvP. Heck, if I was into the whole wizardry/medieval-type crap, I'd definitely flock over there because this game is a stunfest in PvP.

The big three: Raiding, PvP, Crafting are the mainstays of any MMORPG. This game (and finally someone has) Added a forth: Story.

Those four all need to be treated as primary attractions. Thus far, crafting has been at the bottom of the list with one fix to the RE system. PvP and Raiding are looking to be the primary content added. Story is looking to also take a back seat. Sort of strange because "story people" and "crafters" are those that will hang in there long haul. If they do not get some sort of cookie they may not.
May the Schwartz be with you....

I have to admit you have lost me there, pvp is just pvping ? you attack others, guard nodes and play hutball. isnt that the idea and be better then the other side through teamwork.

Ow i think GW2 has already made its dent in swtor, i think that the people who are leaving for GW2 have left already or 99% of them who arnt coming back ever. Anyone who pre ordered it got into the beta and stress tests which have basically been full on for the last few months.

It comes out on the 28th and headstart begins on the 24th, thats in 3 days time. so anyone whos still hanging about are only really hanging about on the forums.

I take this into the accounting fact that there are a large majority of people who will retain both games, swtor and gw2 which is also why i think the dent has already been made. I think the biggest thing GW2 is going to dent is wows pvp base also, thats one of the prime reasons blizzard have decided to go head to head with panda patch hitting same time.

But if bioware can pull there finger out and get the stuff we know in the game and the space project in before xmas at a push feb at the latest then what we have now as a playerbase will grow close to release numbers.
