I hope im wrong and bw actualy figures out how to run an mmo, brings us new content on a regular basis and hires some tech people that can figure out alot of these simple mechanics swtor is missing but i fear the only thing that can save swtor is it being sold to someone else, i hope Trion has some money saved up.

TOR hasn't had an expansion yet, so you can't get grandfathered in with one.

At any rate, if you are so worried about losing access to content, just stay subscribed.

You got the 2nd expansion that you'd already paid for and the zones that had come in with the books as well didn't you? I'm sure you did.

As far as I'm aware all the actual content that was there and you'd paid for (or had given free) when LOTRO when F2P you kept no matter what grade of account you had afterwards.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

I agree.

In reality, it helps the game if they sell non-cap blue gear (he mentioned blue gear) because no crafters will make the gear and while you can get the gear in game, the option to spend coins on it is a quality of life element to a newer player leveling up. Veteran players will twink all their alts with orange/purple gear afterall.

Now, if Mr Hickman had said all the top end gear is for sale in the coin shop, I could see (and agree with) all the complaining going on about this. But that is NOT what he said, not even close.

Well actually what they said was that dispite heavily implying (if not outright saying) Makeb was going to be free to subscribers, they are in fact considering charging for it as it feels (to them) like too much content to give subscribers for free.

For the record:
I think that selling cool looking leveling gear is fine. Selling end game gear (ugly or not) is not fine.
Selling new classes, new races, and new planets is fine.
Selling new classes, new races, and new planets to subscribers is not fine.

Honestly if they eventually start selling raid quality gear I reckon the same people that said SWTOR was perfect on launch, then said it wasn't losing subs hand over fist, then said that it wouldn't go F2P, then said that it was great it WAS going F2P, and then said that it wouldn't go P2W and are now starting to say it would be "OK" if it did go semi-P2W......... would be saying that was fine too (in fact one already has said it ).

I'm beginning to wonder if anything Bioware does to SWTOR can be bad in some peoples eyes.

Unless Makeb and whatever else comes with it is equal to a "normal" expansion in size, it better free for subscribers, or I'm done. WTH would be the point of subscribing if I have to pay for content like a F2Per would?
The point is the crap gear wont sell. Cosmetic stuff won't sell the equal of 19 bucks a month. So they will have to sell items people actually want to buy. What would you buy? Maybe you'd get 1 or 2 bucks from me for a cool gun or armor set. One time. The only thing you could get people to pay for regularly beyond more content access is buffs and stims. So for 1.99 a month I get unlimited pvp access. For 3.99 I get unlimited pvp stims. For 29.99 I get the pvp winners package.

WH gear for character. Unlimited buffs and stims. Valor rank 70.

It will go quickly to pay to skip to more. Want to buy a lvl 50 any AC? Want to pvp armor? Want to buy pve top armor?

What else would you buy?

Green items. ROTFL. Ok. That is how this will be successful and profitable...

I'm sure you'll get to keep the TOR expansions you've paid for when F2P goes live. Just stop acting like your $50 dollar game purchase counts as content that you've paid for. Cancel your sub see how long your "paid" content stays available.
