As far as I'm concerned, given the lack of content since launch, subscribers have paid for one or 2 expansions already.
Um, I believe a new planet with missions, NPCs, and a planet storyline actually is new content. I'll continue subscribing to this game, and I'm sure many more will too.

There will also be an Operation, a Warzone, and a new playable species with the coming update.

He's not saying they are not "new content".

He's saying that having to pay for a sub AND then to still pay for new content like Makeb on top of that sub isn't what they suggested "F2P" with a sub would be.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

Is he sure that it's going to be required to pay for it even with a sub? Because, if it hasn't been actually announced by Bioware, I won't believe it until it is.

They've said they are discussing doing it that way (they said so in an interview yesterday), so whilst it hasn't been decided it will, it hasn't been decided it won't either........ which is why people are making their feeling CLEAR on this aspect I guess, before they've absolutely decided either way and it's far too late to change it.

To play devils advocate:

In SWG: The wookie planet was considered an expansion they made you pay $19.99 for and it was just one planet... The same for the Obi-wan expansion, just one planet also and you had to pay $19.99 for it.... They also charged you $19.99 for Jump to Lightspeed which was suppose to be in the game at launch....

That said, Makeb better have a ton of content if they expect to charge us for it... If it's the size of a regular DLC like their other games which usually equals 1-2 hrs of game play then they shouldn't' charge for it.... but if it's several weeks worth of new content then sure I would call that an expansion and pay it...
F2P is like driving on a long stretch of highway with toll booths every 1/2 mile

^^This. Or even better still, I'll continue to subscribe *and pay for the expansion . Do you think they have an enormous team of developers and writers and producers working to bring you updates for free? They are in business to make $$$$$.

OP: Let me be abundantly clear. If you don't have $ then you're not a customer. I mean really :/

Well, I'll pay for it if it actually does come to that. I'm sorry some may miss out though.

Correction: "It's bad business in YOUR eyes." Stop insulting others because they have a different opinion than yours.

With that being said, I will state that I won't pay an extra dime beyond my subscription for content that is simply one extra planet. Me paying for extra content (i.e. an expansion) better come with more than just a planet. I would expect a level cap increase, new story, new planets, new abilities, new FP's, and at least 2-3 new operations at release.

JTL was NEVER supposed to be in the game for launch, never.

It was in developement before launch, yes, but was annouced way before SWG went Live as a paid for expansion.

However the big issue with Makeb is not really if they charge for or or not, but rather that they SAID they would not charge for it and now are back tracking on that pledge.

If they'll back track on that, then there is NOTHING in SWTOR they won't backtrack on.

This thread could really, really benefit from some of that increased communication that the CMs were talking about a week or so ago.

Hint. Hint.

If there's no plan to charge subscribers additional money for one new planet, it's a simple thing to say, and would relieve a lot of people posting here.

If there IS a plan to charge subscribers additional money for one new planet, it's a dangerous thing to say, as it would greatly upset a lot of people posting here.

Bioware, EA, Community Team: Your silence on this issue is both telling and troubling.
Grumpy old Founder.
