I suppose the issue is that we don't know how big Makeb is going to be. If it's big enough to be considered expansion material, it's expansion material and gets a charge. Fair do's.

We don't have enough information to judge on anything, really.

We know that it isn't the continuation of our Character Stories.

It's been real but the game just wasn't worth the sub for me anymore.

No one knows what it is yet, except for the people at Bioware. If we get 5 levels worth of content, with an increased level curve compared to 45-50, then that is equivalent content to Voss + Corellia, which really is quite a lot of content. If they add in some other perks, like their initial survery question suggested (HK access, RotJ-style speeder, character slots) then it would be well worth paying for on top of sub fees.

That is true and a good point. Even so, I find it immoral of them to backtrack on it being free to subscribers. So far all we have to show for subbing since December is: 3 major updates, a temporary unique item vendor, 2 events and the core game this does not scream worth $135 or whatever we have paid up to this point.

Edit: I am willing to pay for an expansion that brings us Chapter 4 to our class story or free roam space combat and new races.

And if we sacrifice months upon months of , what should be, normal free content updates... so they can put it in an expansion and charge for it then its ok? Makeb itself is not expansion worthy but it they packaged it with alot of other stuff it could be, yes. However... Makeb is what they have been working on for a content update. I dont find it ok to not give us free content so that they can give us charged content.

What have we been paying for already? And please dont say access to the game. Ive already disputed that as a poor excuse many times over. Some of this content that we have already gotten was finished content held back.

Open your eyes... we are being ripped off.
James Ohlen: " For 2012 we really want players to feel like they're getting their money's worth. You're going to see so many changes and additions to the Star Wars Universe. It's going to be impressive. We have our Update 1.2 coming in the next week and then after that it's going to continue to roll out month after month. It's exciting."

Lets get a history huh....

1. Pay a reasonable price for game and enjoy it
2. Pay a reasonable price for game, pay to play game and get a bunch of continued content
3. Pay alot of moeny for game, pay to play game and get a small amount of content
4. Pay an exorbant amount of money for game, pay to play game, get very little content, pay for a large expansion to continue
5. Pay an exorbant amount of money for game, pay to play game, get almost no content, pay for a small expansion to continue

If you dont feel like you are being ripped off thats fine for you. However, its people like you that allow the game industry to continue to... what I believe to be.... rip us off. Clear enough for you now? Am I calling you stupid directly? No.

And yes, retarted was a poor word choice, I admit that and edited it.

While it doesn't fully apply to this topic. I like to give Devs the benefit of the doubt, but they finally got to me and my guild. The free to play made things a bit easier to finally click the cancel button and give up the last of my hopes.

I did write up a well explained and written cancel message, of course it was eaten asking me to login again...
So re typed it and bit fast and sloppy. Free to play with getting no support from SWTOR in regards to our guilds transfer issues. What cracks me up and the slow release of new stuff items cosmetic ect, yet that is going to be part of the F2P revenue generation. Makes me wonder how long ago they started making new stuff and holding it for the coming F2P system instead of releasing it for those that have played since day one and paid for it. I had great hopes and dreams maybe they will get things going better but I think its time to wander off.

Just a copy of the 2nd message after first was eaten, sorry its a bit messy.

Quote:
Sigh last 2000 character message was eaten so this one will be shorter. Email me if you want more info.

Basically Paid up until now, for limited new stuff and your going free to play to sell me things you were unable to add while I was paying for the game....... New companion I need leveled toons on both factions.....ya more grinding instead of enjoying the stories I was on.

MAIN REASON

My guild has many members that are in military service right now. We have been together 20 years as a guild are are as such a family. The transfers came about and we waited trying to get help in helping move the guild as a whole. Due to not wanting to leave family behind just because they are serving their country. In many PMs, Posts, CSR tickets by myself and the guild as a whole we got ZERO response. So we waited hoping for a server roll in. Well waiting for literally months many of us gave up bored on a low population server it was no fun. So people faded upset with the situation with no help from SWTOR. The few that remained moved recently to get the gifts, but there is so few left we are unable to move the guild bank and get it re setup on the new server. So we are not only forced to leave family behind we lost millions of credits worth of bank space and items. Needing more people in the guild is just no possible for us now that we have been starved to death by lack of health. Those that remain are still very much pissed we have so many that are unable to move due to their Duty to their country. I gave up my guild leader and handed it over to a friend as I lost my faith in SWTOR and BW.

If you want to correct the guild bank for the few that remain shoot me a email and I will direct you to those that are still playing or you could check your CSR mail list or PMs for the devs or forum posts....

Regardless with F2P coming might venture back to poke around but paid plenty up until now, so time to st

I might see you guys in the future to some degree! But hope everyone continues getting their enjoyment out of all the play! Besafe all.

Monthly subscription fees = access to the servers to play current content, via recurring subscription or time card applied to your account.

Paid Expansions = point of sale content product, sold via retail merchants or digital point of sale. It carries a separate license agreement and product code that must be applied to your existing account.
As usual, you fail to apprehend the point.

I'll be generous (or delusional) and allow that 30% of the playerbase feels the way you do -- that the $15 you are paying only pays for the ability to login and play the game, and that anything above and beyond that is fair game to be charged for.

That leaves 70% of people who don't feel that way. Does this sound like a good PR move to you? A move that will drive people to want to subscribe?

I know everyone here knows everything and considers their own opinions as just below biblical revelation, but the application of even a touch of common sense should show that if you say one thing then do something else it will have a back lash, and that 40% of the people leaving for "price" wouldn't have done that if they were okay with being charged for content that the devs said would be free. Just because you think it is justified doesn't mean others do, and this sort of "well you should think like I think" reeks of patronization.

How about this: you can pay my sub, then tell me how I should feel about being lied to.
