Tell me about it.

Bottom line being a subscriber is supposed to guarantee a certain level of "service". It carries certain expectations universal for the genre. Charging an additional fee for a content patch, even one containing a leveling zone falls outside of those expectations. And when expectations aren't met you get backlash.

I see.. but you do realize it would have been the same thing except you would have had some of it faster right?
With that reasonning they should not charge you for any expansion at all. Plus wow is a big cash cow that doesnt owe **** to anyone (aka lucas art) and the expansion are pretty much required to access any other new content that will come out

So this is a interesting discussion considering they have this posted on their forums. So if the info people are pushing on this topic is false, and what this link says is true we have nothing to concern ourselves with. This being said if what the link says is false then its fraud, and well I do not like fraud. I consider it faud when a company says to me your sub will pay for the content, you have nothing to worry about, and then decide to say no it wont pay for the content.

It would be senseless to charge subscribers for this type of new content since it severely impacts on any real incentive to BE a subscriber.

the main diffrence between content and xpac is

WoW = 1.0
TBC = 2.0
WotLK = 3.0
CATA = 4.0
MoP = 5.0

all those other parts are called 1.1 1.1.1 1.2.1 and so forth go look at the patch notes for this game would you be happy payin £5 for each one of those

But then again if they give it away free I suppose they will have to find a way of people not subbing for one month to get the content and then going F2P. Paid access restricts people from using it.

Although if they charge a premium to play the new content and the new levels, what exactly are the subscribers paying for? You're paying a sub and then a premium on top to play what is meant to be what the subscribers are paying for if there's only premium content after level 50 what's the point of paying a sub?

You know this MMO was completely mis-handled form the start. EA are a disgrace to gaming. I've already been burned with Battlefield 3 and i'm feeling increasingly ripped off with this MMO. I can only hope that Bioware chooses it's bedfellows more carefully in the future. I love Bioware games... but if there's any more carry on from them I won't be buying any more of their releases.
That's not really difficult, you sub you get the content, your sub ends your content is restricted until you resub or buy it.

I have to agree.

I could be wrong, but I cannot see Makeb being anything even close to the size of a true expansion. If it is not, I think they would be making a terrible mistake in trying to charge the paying subscriber base for it. Shady doesn't even come close to describing it.

What worries me even more is that the CS folks have actually been hitting the forums very hard, and yet there is nothing but silence from them in this thread, leading me to believe that they don't want to comment. And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why companies don't like to comment on an issue such as this...

Good point but..... Its is Sunday and I don't work on Sundays....

I guess this genre has changed so much cause in my experiance an xpac is enough content to take me 6 or more months for me to burn through. Perhaps if Bioware had made worlds bigger with 10 times the amount of quests and the xp percentages earned were cut by 75% It might take more then a month to level to 50 (for someone not working that is). Bioware hit the mark on the solo game and leveling but then didnt realize just how fast we would all get to 50 and need enough operations to do like 5 different HARD MODE OPS a week We only have 4 but only 1 gives out Campain gear and your locked to only once a week in Denova Hard Mode.

The way I see it they owe us more OPS and More Flashpoints.

What I would call an expansion worthy of paying for on top of my subscription would be a fully realized X Y Z AXIS space addition with fighters, bombers, Heavey Cruisers, Mining Ships, Capital Ships, Guild Owned and managed Space Stations with Hanger bays to land in and store our fighters ect. The ability to own multiple ships types.
New planets to explore that are totally wild and un settled with material resources for crafting to mine/harvest.
The ability to purchase droids to manage and repair remote mining equipment while your off xping or what ever...
3 more chapters in the class story with 50 more levels to get along with it. Which would of course require about 20 new planets 10 that both factions can goto and 5 for each faction.
That would be worth paying 40 bucks for...
Fear leads to Anger
Anger leads to hate
HATE leads to suffering

Ye Xpac with just one planet in. They sell you a bold with a nut and charge for a brand new car or at least half of it. If they think a planet with 10 quests in its a xpac for a mmorpg no wonder the game went downhill the way it did. These guys really need to take a grip here or they might end up just them playin the game.
