This Game by far exceeds my expectations in general, but i've had nothing but bad experiences in flashpoints regarding loot. I ran BT a few times on my Operative, and every time without fail there is at least one person who always rolls need on every drop even if their class cannot equip the item. Lost rolls on the moddable rifle twice to Sorcerors

Next day I go on my Assassin a few times....same thing. Operatives and BHs rolling Need and winning light sabers, one guy even laughed at me when I asked why he would roll need.... he said 'bro I can sell this for 200 credits to the vendor, why wouldn't I roll Need?'

Jerks aside, the other issue is that some people make honest mistakes and click Need and win. Problem is that there is no way to trade these items because they are bound to whoever picks them up first.

Not quite sure why the decision was made to allow classes that cannot even equip said item to roll Need on it. Please add this at the very least, and preferably add a grace period for trading Bind-On-Pickup items so that people can trade these items (only to members of that group) for a certain window of time. This is pretty much a staple for modern MMOs at this point - self policing does not work since there are no substantial consequences for jerks and no way to 'make things right' for those who just made an honest mistake.

Roll with friends. Most Flashpoints up to a certain level can be done by just 2 people + 2 companions. Works out great, buddy of mine is an Agent, I'm Assassin. So both of us and both companions have separate loot requirements. Made out like bandits.

The loot system is fine. Your selection of grouping partners needs work.

Everyone in a group has an equal right to every drop. If you get in a group with a jackhole who rolls needs on everything, quit.

These are all perfectly understandable wants. However, I'm sure some jerk will hop in and shriek about how you need to l2p and how badly WoW sucks and that you shouldn't want something that WoW has!

Sadly, people are just jerks when you play with strangers, sometimes. If possible - especially in a game that's more based around smaller groups, try and meet a few reliable people and join up with them for FPs. It usually saves some headache.

Besides, there's nothing wrong on rolling for an item for your companion, they're part of the game.

I would also add to this to have Orange gear drop empty, without mods.

That way people going the modifiable gear route, who actively keep their mods up-to-date and intend to use them, can freely roll on such gear without the greedy "Only I should be able to roll on it cause it has X stat on it" crowd throwing a hissy fit.

Its a good point, but I argue that the game mechanics should encourage rather than discourage social interaction. I have a guild full of cool people but we don't always want to run the same flashpoint at the same time. Some simple loot rules could alleviate a lot of bad experiences.

I am sorry, but no. What class do you play sir? If you play a trooper mind if I roll need on your gear? If you play a Sith Bounty Hunter, mind if I need on your gear. That is what a ninja is and that is the most douch.ebaggish type of player that exist. Now, if you want to be known as that keep rolling need on gear u dont need and see how many groups you get, mmk?

"Some simple loot rules could alleviate a lot of bad experiences. "

This is correct, and you should set them before embarking on your quest to aleviate the problems you are experiencing.
