Been running around the Harbinger Server and I keep hearing people mention the APEX strat for Gharj in EV. Ive never been in a group that knows what it was and when i ask in general, they say it requires a physical explanation. Was wondering if any of the APEX members or people that have grouped with APEX could explain it. Thanks

Ive run with the APEX members before in a GF SM EV and they mentioned it but decided against it because our group was too melee heavy. It involves keeping Gharj at the front of the cave entrance (right after the last fire cat pull) which puts all the melee directly in front of him, thus soaking up all his frontal cleaves so they say they only do that strat when they have a mostly ranged group. Not sure what happens with the adds or movement though. just know his positioning

Im in APEX its when you all sit at the entrance of the cave and have your tank pull Gharj up to the entrance make sure that when the adds come you all exit the cave and go to the left and sit on the edge of the rock. Having all the members of the raid group OUTSIDE THE CAVE when the adds come is crucial or Gharj will reset.

Waste of time strategy....

He is easy boss...learn to do the mechanics properly and you will be more prepared for the SOA fight at the end.

Actually it's pretty useful if you are in a PUG group with ranged or if the ranged DPS or heals aren't geared.

Nice idea ^^ I can see it working well with freshly hit 50s who need carrying. Personally I'd stick with the usual strat, but its not a bad alternative at all.

That seems like a good strategy for doing him undermanned.

I suspect you could use this strategy to do him with 6 people on NiM, or 4 people on HM.

Im the acting GM of APEX while our GM is on his honeymoon and we came up with the strat the first time we 4 manned SM EV. It makes the enrage timer a non-factor because you keep your dps going the entire time. We then started using it in PuG's with undergeared healers. It makes their life much easier. To those saying its a waste of time and just learn the normal strat, i see where youre coming from but its just another mechanic. Everyone has their own preferred strat and we've found it makes Gharj more of a joke than he already is. Its just like aoe healing for the annihilator droid compared to hiding behind the pillars. As long as your tank keeps him out of the cave and your dps burns the adds (shout out to orbital strike), this strat makes life incredibley easy. If your only melee is a tank, then the healers only have to heal one person. Life is real easy.
