It is developers listening to players that has made MMO's the dumbed down messes they currently are.

What the industry needs is developers with the spine to give MMO players what they need, not what they want.

Pandering to popular opinion is not a recipe for a good anything.

Considering that they haven't listened to a thing the players wanted, and this is the state of the game, just how worse do you think listening to their customers could've made things?

Ummm... not sure if serious.. BUT...

We have stores here in the States, too. They even let us buy shirts there. If you don't feel like going to the store, you can order them from numerous domestic retailers. Crazy, I know.

I know if you want a Real Madrid jersey, you have to go to Spain, right?

First rule of SWTOR development team .... we don't talk about SWTOR development, especially with our subs.

sorry Eric, you gotta go. You're willingness to communicate with the masses doesn't align with our visio. Good luck in your future endeavors.

I really don't get it. Why are other companies, including the guys behind rift and gw2, always ready to engage in detailed conversations with their players? Only you guys at Bioware seem to behave like the NSA, with such a layer of obfuscation and secrecy over everything? Why CAN'T you guys tell us about future plans, even if you have to also warn us some plans are not set in stone?

It's a really strange and unhealthy dynamic that's been created here, and definitely part of the downward spiral.

Because they have no plans.

That's a total fallacy. Have you been to the suggestion forum? How many of those threads have been acted upon?

We're so limited that we can't even send out bulk guild mail. We're constrained and artificially prevented from helping our guilds by 1980's era lockout timers on Operations. I do stuff with my guild EVERY MOMENT I'm online...but we can't even organize or sign up while we're playing, it needs to be organized offline. My guild message window can't even be re-sized to show our TS/Vent and Mumble info, so we're forced to use abbreviations that only a few people can understand. The freaking pre-launch guild organization was a MILLION times better than what we have now...they've stepped BACK from that. In order to move servers, I couldn't even send out an email blast to all the people who had quit...hell, I was forced to disband the guild even in order to get a guild bank back, like I'd abuse it or something on a dead server...

Don't blame US for the state of the game. We're the ones who have kept playing and paying, hoping things would improve. We're the ones who WANT this game to succeed!!!

The industry is welcome to go do what they want...Bioware did with space...how has that turned out for them?

Pandering to popular opinion isn't always the best move, but delivering things your customers ask for, is! We don't ask for things just to make the developers work harder, we ask because we have a reason to! We know why people have quit, we've heard the rants in guild chat, we've read the goodbye posts, we're the ones who want this game to THRIVE, not die. If someone takes the time to craft a well written post, or even a poorly written rant, it's worth reading because they may be right. Don't be so quick to dismiss opinions...remain open minded...the developers aren't perfect, nor did any of us expect their game to be.
