I just unsubbed.

I dislike free to play games. They cause a severe drop in community due to F2P players lacking accountability. I don't want to continue to pay a company that doesn't seem to care about the loyal players that stuck by them. I subbed to WOW for 6 years. I had planned to stay subbed to SWTOR going forward the same way. If EA doesn't care about subscribers, then I don't care to support their game any more.

Good bye all and good luck with the trollish hordes once F2P hits.

Sadly, today is my last day. I've been here since launch and have always supported the game. I brought up 5 lvl 50's across 2 servers but I only have a few reasons to cancel:
-- I'm bored. I can't stomach leveling another alt up and the same 4 war zones day in and day out is not enough. What happened to Ilum redesign? Some sort of structured World PVP would keep me subbed for life
-- Load times and static world designs. Why doesn't anything path randomly? How is it fun to have packs of 3-5 mobs sitting around waiting to get slaughtered? I barely even like leveling because of all the long load times and travel issues as well.
-- Communication from BW sucks. I'm sick of hearing "coming soon". I've been patient for many months and spent plenty of money to get more than a canned statement from them once a month. Maybe a general direction of where the game is going at least would suffice.
-- Community is horrible. Yes, that's right.... this community sucks. I grew up with Everquest, I want a community like that again. Why should I have to turn off general chat to get away from the dredges of society? Since you can play mostly solo, I guess people don't care about community. Don't even get me started on the rudeness of people in PvP; it's mostly disgusting. Luckily I had a great guild to play with but this community is a cancer. I hope it doesn't spread to the next game...whatever that may be.

Bioware could have nailed this game, but the train has derailed at some point. I'll gladly keep an eye on things and maybe re-sub in 1.4/1.5.

Best of luck!

I just canceled my wifes subscription today, she's not played in three or four months. Here's what I posted on the comments section.

1) Not Enough Content
Your claim of three major content updates since launch is insulting. You've spent six months bringing the game up to pairity with other MMO's, and released a trickle of content. Raid/Daily/PvP/Dungeon is a stale formula for endgame content and you've done NOTHING to inovate that.

2) Price
I'm done paying $15 a month for nothing, you stated that it was important to you as a company that the subscribers feel that they're getting thier money's worth, well the subscription numbers REALLY speak for themselves.

3) Lack of Vision
You create a game with a significant deficet of endgame content, your answer to which is "roll an alt". Yet with your over emphasis on "Story driven MMO" you've created a EXTREAMELY linear leveling experience, in which 85 to 90 percent of the content is the same with every play thru (faction specfic). And you expect me to enjoy that?

4) Lack of Vision pt II
You've spent ALOT of time, effort, and capital on creating a "fully" voiced MMO experience. All of which would have been better spent making if not a better game at least a game with more things to do at end level. Yet, as fans clamor for more content more things to do at end game, your answer seems to be more missdirection then fix. LFG should have been a launch feature, yet you wait MONTHS to impliment it. Look at your subscription numbers, alot of those losses might have stayed if this was available then. As it is it seems too little to late.

5) EA throws in the towel
Two rounds of layoffs at Austin BW within months of the games initial release is bad. It looks bad, it is bad. Now you would have us believe, that come November you'll be realsing MORE content than you have had before at a FASTER pace than you've proved capable of doing, with a SMALLER staff??? Prove it, and man do I really hope I get proved wrong here, cause a part of me still loves this game.

I just hit the unsub button myself. I tried to give them a fair chance but in 8 months we have had pratically no content. Then we find out that instead of using our sub money to make content, they used it to fund the F2P crap. The lack of communication since beta is terrible.
James Ohlen: " For 2012 we really want players to feel like they're getting their money's worth. You're going to see so many changes and additions to the Star Wars Universe. It's going to be impressive. We have our Update 1.2 coming in the next week and then after that it's going to continue to roll out month after month. It's exciting."

What are your top 5 reasons why you left the game? Why do you stick around?

My top 5:

1) F2P Announcement.

The F2P announcement, coupled with yet another promise to produce more content, more quickly, was the very last straw for me. How many times have we heard that content promise? We heard it at launch. We heard it again when they cut a good chunk of their staff. Then we heard it again with the next staff cut. And most recently we heard it with the F2P announcement. It's like a mom... Honey, I'm sorry your girlfriend left you for the star football player... here, have a cookie! Except there's actually no cookie and she kicks you in the junk instead.

2) - 5) Nope, just the F2P Announcement.

Really, that's it. If I could believe that EA wouldn't flip that puppy into Pay-to-Win in two breaths of a hummingbird and would actually produce real content, I'd probably renew my subscription. But it's pretty clear that regardless how much they SAY it, they haven't actually DONE it yet and now with this F2P announcement, the vast majority their resources will be focused on producing cash shop goodies. That's where the revenue is, after all, and EA is all about the revenue.

I respect the reasons listed in this thread as to why people have left. For me, and many others I know, $15/mo isn't really a lot of money. I get way more entertainment from this game, than most things I do each month for my $15 - even if I only log in once or twice a week for a few hours.

Assuming I play 40 hours per month (likely more than that) - That's 37 cents per hour I pay to play this game...

I just canceled as well. I don't mind f2p because people who don't pay can't partake in what I'm interested in, ops dungeons what have you. They still would have to buy the game per account so there's at least SOME reason to negate trolling by f2p members.
I canceled because of the:
*Lack of customizaiton (Only campaign gear set bonus is extractable)
*set bonus forcing you to stay with the rakata look
*Armor on republic side looks horrendous!
*lack of content
*serious bugs
*same dungeons over and over
*same wzs over and over
*lack of communication by anyone from BW on where this game is going (other than f2p)
*what I consider a serious flaw in leadership for this game and how it developed
*crewskills are really badly done
*no exploration on planets
*railshooter space battles and extremely long load screens.
I played as a healer only on any of my toons but my main was a jedi sage and the healing style was really not fun at all. I tried healing on other classes but those weren't that fun either so anyway those are the reasons why i left. I'm really sad too because I grew up with the original movies (yes I'm older lol) and playing as a Jedi was supremely amazing....at least at first.

I know, it's not the money at all though because you're right; it's inexpensive to play.
