I was expecting it to look the same on others really. Just hoping that they've got a streaming issue with the high res textures and that they're not actually meant to look like they were done in MS Paint.

Dude you will get people saying "what is wrong with that? I think it is gorgeous!"

This is what it looks like on my machine too. I have an i5 2500k, 8gb RAM and an HD 5770.

On my rig the graphics should be so good I should want to lick the screen. The textures look like you would have got them from a 2002 game.

I really hope Bioware produce a high res texture pack for people who have rigs that could easily run those textures as for me anyway the graphics are letting the game down.

I have to agree with the OP too. Some of the armour textures look atrocious while others look decent. It creates and uneven looking game to my eyes and hope BioWare are looking into this. There's enough posts (since beta) to suggest that numerous people are not happy with this.

In addition, I've also noticed that when you Ctrl+Right Click to preview an item on your character, the resolution looks even worse than normal as if it's set to super low! Again, I'm hopeful BioWare fix this because it's hard to see what looks good when previewed as all items look like utter *&^* in that window. Part of the fun is seeing how good an item looks before getting it. Also cannot preview weapons though I'm certain that will be fixed. The texture resolution in the character sheet window also looks inferior to normal too.

I can live with these issues for now but certainly not long term.

Why is there no difference at all between medium and high textures?

Have they not implemented the *High* resolution textures yet?

I mean literally, nothing happens, where as loading take's place switching from Low - Medium.

Some people just really are nitpicking over such minor detailing. The game looks good, and its hardly anywhere near "game breaking". I preferr Bioware spend their time fixing the bugs that exists and adding more content.

I can't seem to get the High rez textures to show on my 570 GTX either.

When switching from LOW to HIGH... nothing happens.

Switching from LOW to MED...huge difference.

Switching from MED to HIGH...nothing happens.

I appears that HIGH has been disabled? I like many others, were probably set to LOW as default when logging in, so essentially I played 17 levels so far thinking I was on HIGH rez textures when really it was LOW the entire time.

Although not a big deal, this could affect review scores at the very least. Maybe there is a launch day patch incoming, who knows.

Has there been any official word from EA/Bioware about this?

Pretty bad :/
Opinions are like belly buttons. Everyone has one and they all stink.

No, wait, not belly buttons.

Actually really like the style of the game. But what I will say is that textures look poorer then they did in the beta even. Not sure why, or if this is a technical issue at this point but I remember the beta weekend looking better. Most noticeable in cut-scenes where the textures are simply awful for some really. Barely clear and blurry like nothing I've seen, I'm pretty sure they weren't that bad in the beta. I remember actually liking the look of the gear close up in the beta weekend so I got no idea what's caused this.

Hope it's something that they can fix.

Dear Bioware,

Please allow us to use the high textures globally in-game and not just in cutscenes/character creation. Or at least tell us why you won't.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
