Broken Promises or Unrealistic Expectations?

The funny thing is that I was talking about without even having a helmet on, true clones. Same face, same body type, same armor; it creeps me out more than anything to be honest. My poor characters must be disturbed and wondering if they are clones or were cloned.

The problem goes away during the later levels of the game but the damage is always done, I always see my clone.

Then I'm wondering which MMO's you're referring to, considering as to I have only encountered EVE where I didn't encounter a copy of myself, and well yeh, that was only because there wasn't really a character.

Anything else? I've always ran into copies.

Really? I ran into 100s of copies of myself on WoW / Rift / AoC/ SWG, I even found a copy of myself on TSW 2 days ago. Though I mark that up to me making the most attractive characters on all of my games. :P

Memory is clouded by human Optimism, almost all of a persons memory is tainted by rose colored glasses (Seeing them better than they actually were). Psychologist have essentially proven it. If you want to know how things truly were, actually revisit them. I resub to WoW every 5-6 months to make sure it was really as bad as I thought it was and it still holds true till today.

Champions Online, DCUO, City of Heroes, STO, Rift, SWG, and pretty much every MMO that has a better character creator than SWTOR...which is most MMOs not named WOW.

It is cringe worthy while leveling up how many times you run into someone wearing most of the same gear you are wearing and then even more so if they have the same face.

Never really played AoC, but Rift and SWG run into players that look similar...sure...run into players that look exactly the same? SWTOR's lack of head options outside of choosing your head and hair makes it a lot more likely.

In all of those except for the superhero games I ran into generic copies in different sizes, and in the superhero games I mainly ran into weird freakshows of which personally speaking, I'm glad we don't have that here in SWTOR. However, that's just my opinion. But I really wasn't waiting for a twilek torso, with a yoda head, wookie legs, a tail attached to it to be running around in a pink thong.

I will admit that the superhero games have better character customization, but that was the only decent part about those games. But SWG / Rift werent any different that Swtor unless you count the fact that in Swtor you can't be a lizard or a elf. I think people just expected too much from SWTOR on release. WoW only started with realistically <6 races.

Gnomes - Humans - Dwarfs <---- ( All Humans just different sized) , Night elf, Orc , troll, moocow, undead (Oh look another human). So that comes to 4 human races with different skin packs and size sliders and 3 beast races and the pointy eared humans with a skin disorder :P

I will reserve judgment on STO, havent played it to comment.
