As nothing changed in the game other then having more guy running around you, the same trend just start to reapply, people are bored of the game and not logging on as frequently or at all.
Part of the problem is that EA is spinning everything they do, effectively trying to label it something other than what is going on. So what they say, never matches reality. The community is left to fight and kvetch here in the forums, people have to divine what they can from what there is to read, and here we are.

*shrug*

The game likely is still losing net players, but also we have to realize it is that time of year, other games are in the mix, and not all who remain subscribed are going to be as active.

The question is if even more fence sitter bail as they see number continue to decline.

Some, yes, will come back. No doubt. But they need to do a bit more, and that is communicate that coming back isn't going to be a waste, or that what they float out there isn't just a tease. The player base is a bit more jaded at this point. And the content needs to be something people look at and really like. More flash points and war zones aren't that. At the very least, there has to be a sense that the content is heading in the right direction.

Here are the fundamental problems I noticed with TOR:

1. Very little PVP interaction within the worlds at higher levels
2. Poor quality LFG tool that limits peoples ability to form friendships (community) running instances and content.
3. Lack of “personalization”. No cross mission features, very linier story content decreasing re-playability. For both factions
4. Game content is way too easy, and high end gear is a grind fest to get and easy to get. MMO players strive to get that “Bad !!@ gear”, but when it is handed to you then what is there to play for.
5. Leveling is way too fast causing a burnout affect. If I have 2 lvl 50s in 6 months of playing casually and completed most of the content, then something is wrong there. People want something to strive for and the level cap is a big one. This feature needs to go hand in hand with point # 3 and 4.
6. The lack of sandbox elements in the game has a major impact on re-playability, lack of arenas and world pvp, cross story encounters or event random story / mission encounters cripples this game.

TOR is a great idea, and the engine as a whole is a good one, combat mechanics are great, and the all voice over missions and encounters are wonderful, but the 6 points above MUST be in place to hold subs or people get bored and quit. People are angry because the hopes for the game was so high, and when it is lacking the elements that make an MMO good you just fail.

You point out some good points from a given point of view. Likewise, the other side of the player base is unhappy at a lack of ability to just go and "explore," have fluff, customize look and feel of characters, etc. So this game is lacking on both sides.

They've made some bad decisions.

My group of friends who play all had to reroll on different servers due to declining population.

Now we come back at server merge and our 2 old servers merge to the same new one. There aren't enough character slots to bring all our new guys over, and no room to make a new character.

This drove most of them away until they add more character slots.

I went ahead and leveled a guy to 50 on a new server. Doing pvp now and I gotta say it feels like a ridiculous grind for war hero gear. I'm completely worthless in recruit armor as a juggeranut and am not having any fun griding it out for battlemaster.

If they had listened to a small handful of us during beta testing, and changed/added some things (or NOT changed some things) during that time, they wouldn't be in this mess.

Those of us who told them back then what wasn't going work were proven correct, and the majority in beta testing who said everything was perfect, and to hurry and release the game were proven wrong. Their lack of creativity, and enthusiasm for making a living, breathing world was sorely evident way back then. They wanted to stick with the strory thing, and that's great for the class stories. The bad thing is, that's only good the first time for most people.

The things that they tied to story (we were told this by them), and really should not have been is, no appearance tab, no clothing dyes, no day/night on planets, restrictive/linear world maps, restrictive crafting, no housing, space on wobbly rails, and linear world quests.

I bet most of those biofans from beta aren't even here anymore.

Nope, many of the names from back then are long gone. Developers should never listen to the pre-launch crowd when it comes to that. Most of them won't become lasting subs anyway.

Hmmm I wonder why? Players don't get rewarded with anything so they have no reason to.

Lol what?? Right at the end of the run a screen pops up that gives you the option to add the players you ran with to your friends list

Very linear story? You mean each class having it's own class story that different from each other as opposed to say, WoW, where everyone does the exact same quests no matter what class?

This is what todays players want. We are in the generation of, " it's not a job but a game" crowd of players

Again, generation of, "It's not a job and I only have limited time to play so give everything to me now crowd"

This is not SWG, go play a shooter if you want arena. world pvp will never happen until the developers start handing gear out like candy, not exactly sure what you mean by cross story.

im probably not going to renew after this month.

leveling is horrible, really. the class quests are good but the rest of the filler content in between class quests is boring. (wzs spend more time dead then fighting, FPs dont give enough exp for the time spent in there, side quests boring)
game had great potential
