But...but if it goes free to play you won't have to pay so--...so, what money will you take...and where will you go with it?

You completely miss the point.
On the Internet, you can be anything you want. It is strange so many people choose to be stupid.

How would free to play enhance my gaming experience?

I am willing to have an open mind, but in my little understanding of MMO games, new PVE and PVP content are financed by the subscription. No subcription, no new (free) content.

Unless player are forced (coerced) some way to spend an equivalent amount of money. But who would such a model benefit me.
Subs = content has not been concrete in any way throughout MMO history. I think the Everquest games have been expansion driven, so new content required extra money. Asheron's Call on the other hand was all about monthly content. I don't know about WoW, but I get the impression that the content is all expansion driven, but that game is swimming in so much money who knows how they break it down.

'F2P' games such as DCUO have a monthly sub that gives you everything you had before and you get free access to expansion packs. The 'free' level of membership gives you all the base content (with a lot of restrictions) but you have to pay for the extra content you want. So with that as an example (and LoTRO, DDO, and EQ2 are similar) SWTOR would carry on the exact same way, but if they ever decided to add real content (which the game has not really done) it would require 'free' players to buy it while your subscription gives you uninterrupted access to it as it would have without a 'free' level.

I was thinking maybe $15 for two months would be more reasonable.

Far more likely though is the prospect of free to play. I like to think those who already spent their $60+subs will get full access and those who never paid would have to buy unlocks. I feel as customers who already bought the game we would save money. Bioware would also benefit, gaining more money from the free to play system.

The only negative is that the games development would probably take a nose dive, but things are happening so slowly, it feels like it already has.

Thoughts?
No, Free 2 Play is a Death Sentence, This game would go P2W, Pay 2 Win, you buy gear to be more powerful than everyone else. That is a Death Sentence and no amount of content would bring me back after that happens.

No, they will expect you to buy their Gear Packages and such, or you will get owned by the people with them giving you the incentive to quit or buy them.

something like

you get chapter 1 free but you need to pay to get chapter 2 and 3. Nothing stops you from grinding your way to 50 but, if you want the story, pay the maney. Something like that?

Then you can monetize access to eternity vault, explosive conflict, various HM FP. I'm not sure how i feel about that.

It the quality of service stay the same in a free game. If there is lag spike, will they quickly resolve the problem, since, well, costumer don't pay a cent to start with.

To me, what i like about the sub model, is that everyone is on the same footing, no one has an advantage because of it's credit card.

WHAT?

If you have to go out of town, get arrested, or you're not in the mood to play, that's on you... That isn't wasted money, that's time you are doing something else and is your choice. You can't include that in how much of the money you've wasted because you COULD be playing at that time, you just chose to do something else (in the case of "Arrested" you chose to commit a crime).

After all its only $15 A month, who cares if we're only getting about $4 or $5 dollars of actual playtime out of it.
Because thats how me make the real world spin ^^
You can only cite this amount of money because you are dividing it among all hours of the month. How much is a movie? $10-12 for 2 hours. If you look at it that way, this game is cheap.

You basically started with a premise, then divided the cost in a way that supports your premise but ignored any other possibility.
