Pro-skippers, politeness will get you further

1. There is no excuse for being rude to people in your group finder group.

2. Both fresh 50s and highly geared players are given strong incentive to use the queue, so expect it. Fresh 50s may not have seen the content. Vets are just hoping to steamroll for BH comms.

3. BT and Esseles are awesome flashpoints the first few times you do them. Of course people will want to experience the story. Someone on their first toon may not have seen the FP since they were level 11, which could have been a month+ ago.

4. The other hard mode FPs have a modest number of cutscenes. If people aren't space-barring, I just quietly deal with it.

5. BT and Esseles have a lot of cutscenes, and I groan when I see them on my mission tab. It will roughly double the time they take to complete if people aren't space-barring. I always ask in the first conversation, if someone else hasn't already asked, for people to space bar. If the second conversation doesn't get space-barred, I will leave the group and do a warzone while my lockout expires.

That is all.
A classic sig that should not be lost:

There is no reason why a lvl 50 should not of seen BT by now, nor most of the other content available to them. If they skipped it over then, story isn't that important to them.

True...but ONLY if you're running it for your first time. If it's your first run, I suggest you to be grouped with your guildies or friends, not PuGing through GF queues, which are really just level 50 filler content.

The reality is, I'm not your buddy or your friend, I simply want the crap Bioware insists I grind for better gear. I run these for the trinkets associated with it, not your enjoyment - that's the only draw the GF queue has for me. If you queue up via the GF for 50 repeatable content, I think it can safely be argued that the "norm" should be skipping the fluff cutscenes UNLESS otherwise stated. I don't complain, I don't yell or even suggest people smash the spacebar, but I find the players who DON'T, to be the selfish ones who also tend to roll NEED on all the crap loot. If you want to watch the cutscenes, PLEASE do it on your time, not mine. It's a courtesy thing, not me being a jerk.

But being polite and tolerant about other people watching it is. Since you can't MAKE anyone skip the cutscenes, you're better off being sociable and up front about it than getting pissy and expectant.

I never said I get pissy. The minority of the players who want to watch the cutscenes in hard modes ought to be ready to be vote-kicked though. I imagine that would suck as a DPS - stubbornly stick to your repeat the story guns and get launched back into the queue or play nice and get to run the flashpoint? Rough decision.

Totally agree with the OP 100%. Where are these kids learning patience these days? I have absolutely no problem skipping all of the cut scenes if I have done the instance at least once. When I am in a Flashpoint and the same person repeats "Skip" over and over before each cut scene then I typically ignore it. Kind of annoying, but whatever. It's when they get ignornant that it starts to bother me. "Yes, I know you're in a hurry and want to get out of this instance a.s.a.p... but hold on a flipping moment!" It's the best when they start getting angry if there is lag that is causing the cut scene to take a while... even when everyone has already skipped. I've never had this issue in any MMO that I have played before. I've never played World Of Warcraft before. I have raided in LOTRO dozens of times though, and I can safely say that no one has an issue if I say "Brb quick". Even in 24-man raid settings. People are that impatient that they cannot wait 2 minutes? Really? I got booted from a group yesterday because I think I was DPSing too quick. It was a Black Talon Hard Mode run. Someone was saying that they'll CC some mobs and we'll run past. OK whatever, fine with me, but when it takes longer for the player to stop and CC the mobs then it would for us to kill them... then what's the difference?

Except there's nothing at all stopping you from creating a group of likeminded people from your own guild or friends list and then queueing up as a group through the group finder. It still gets you the BH comms and you can control who's in the group.

Trust me, I do this with my own fairly static group on a nearly daily basis. If we get randomed into BT, we skip most of the cutscenes, except the cool parts where someone dies or there's an amusing line. If we get anything else, we just watch them while we BS in voice.

Ridiculous statement if you actually play this game.

Everyone is fully aware that you can outlevel content very easily if you do all playstyles available (PvP, Space, WZ's, Class quest, General quests, FP's)

Just MAYBE, they chose a different route to level and put more importance in the the class storyline.

They have every right to go back and enjoy the content that is available at 50, which includes HARD MODE FP's that *GASP* have the story and cut scenes included. If Hard Modes were not meant to have a storyline...guess what, it would not be there.
